UNAIR NEWS Physical and sensory limitations proved no obstacle for participants in the second session of the Computer-Based Writing Test (UTBK) SNBT at 51动漫 (UNAIR). A total of 22 candidates with disabilities took part in the exam on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
One of the participants, Muhammad Pasha Fawwazdian, a hearing-impaired student from SMAN 16 Surabaya, said he had prepared well for the test. He noted that the questions varied in difficulty but were still manageable.
淎lhamdulillah, I prepared for this exam as thoroughly as possible. Some questions were difficult and others were more straightforward, but I believe I was able to answer them , Fawwazdian stated.
Fawwazdian chose the Psychology program at UNAIR due to his interest in helping others, especially in counseling. He also hopes to become a psychiatrist in the future. Support from his family and friends became a major source of strength during this process.
淢y message is that a disability is not a hindrance; rather, it should be viewed as a unique source of strength and an advantage. I have endured significant verbal bullying, but those experiences have only fortified my resolve, he remarked.

The resilience of physically impaired candidates
A similar sentiment was echoed by Khalifah Nisyapuri, a candidate with physical disabilities from SMAN 4 Sidoarjo. She admitted to experiencing pre-exam jitters, which quickly dissipated due to the inclusive facilities and hands-on assistance provided by the UNAIR test committee.
淚 was initially nervous about the difficulty of the questions, but I felt much better once I entered the venue. The staff assisted me significantly, from navigating the elevators to ensuring I was settled in the testing room, Nisyapuri explained.
Nisyapuri commended the university for its seamless accessibility, specifically noting the mobility support provided to reach the ninth floor of the facility. While acknowledging the rigor of the exam, she expressed relief upon its conclusion and cited the success of other students with disabilities as her primary inspiration.
淚t is inspiring to realize we have the same opportunities as everyone else. My advice to others is to never fear the challenge and never lose hope, she urged.
The stories of these candidates serve as powerful evidence that determination can transcend physical barriers. By offering inclusive facilities and a welcoming environment, UNAIR continues to provide equal access to education for all prospective students.
