{"id":180332,"date":"2022-12-28T15:22:21","date_gmt":"2022-12-28T08:22:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/feb-unair-professor-encourages-msmes-to-perform-omnichannel-marketing\/"},"modified":"2022-12-30T10:09:15","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T03:09:15","slug":"feb-unair-professor-encourages-msmes-to-perform-omnichannel-marketing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/feb-unair-professor-encourages-msmes-to-perform-omnichannel-marketing\/","title":{"rendered":"FEB UNAIR Professor encourages MSMEs to perform Omnichannel Marketing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>UNAIR NEWS \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0At the end of 2022, Prof Dr Sri SE Msi Hartini was officially inaugurated as a Professor in Marketing Strategy, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/\">51动漫<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0(UNAIR) on Wednesday, December 28.\u00a0In her scientific oration, Prof. Sri Hartini presented her research entitled\u00a0<em>Digitalization in Business Development for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Starting her scientific oration, Sri Hartini mentioned data from the Ministry of Finance that MSMEs account for 90 percent of business activities and create more than 50 percent of jobs worldwide. But unfortunately, only 20 percent of MSMEs are digitally savvy. Thus, Prof. Sri emphasized that MSMEs must receive full support to increase competitiveness. One way is to perform digitalization.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cA simple way to digitalize MSMEs is, for example, by using the Point of Sales (PoS) application. This application can make it easier to record income, expenses, and profits automatically, including recording incoming and outgoing goods in the warehouse,\u201d said the 31st active FEB Professor.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MSME digitalization<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>Furthermore, she said AR and VR create customer experiences to minimize the risk of cancellation because VR can create 3D environment interactions. Meanwhile, AR can incorporate elements of the virtual world into the real world through computer-generated objects.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cFor example, if you want to buy a car, you can\u00a0try\u00a0it in the virtual space and adjust the space in the real world.\u00a0It means that you can estimate the size of the car for access to the house,\u201d said the professor born in Cepu, Blora Regency.<\/p>\n\n<p>She believes AR and VR can strengthen digital\u00a0marketing\u00a0capabilities in persuading consumers.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Online reviews<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>Prof Sri suggested that MSMEs use\u00a0online reviews\u00a0on all aspects of customer services.\u00a0In her research, Prof. Sri showed that\u00a0online reviews\u00a0determine consumer purchasing decisions for both products and services.\u00a0However, according to her, service\u00a0reviews\u00a0have a higher determining value than product\u00a0reviews.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cBecause it turns out that potential customers need more\u00a0experiential\u00a0service\u00a0reviews.\u00a0For a\u00a0product review, potential consumers can evaluate it themselves through product specifications, so they ignore\u00a0online reviews,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Adjusting business strategy<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>Sri also said that when the pandemic was over, not everyone would adopt old habits, such as\u00a0offline\u00a0shopping, because consumers tend to continue to love\u00a0online\u00a0shopping as a new habit during a pandemic.\u00a0On the other hand, several\u00a0start-ups\u00a0have begun to fall, seen from mass layoffs at\u00a0GoTo,\u00a0Ruangguru, and\u00a0Shopee.\u00a0Apart from that,\u00a0Sayurbox\u00a0also closed its service.<\/p>\n\n<p>Thus, MSMEs must adapt their business strategy to environmental changes in the era of\u00a0Society\u00a05.0 by means of understanding digital\u00a0marketing.\u00a0<em>\u201c<\/em>There must be a new balance between online\u00a0and offline\u00a0purchases, so MSMEs need to prepare\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/digilib.iain-palangkaraya.ac.id\/4183\/1\/Skripsi%20Anisa%20Putri%20Rahayu%20-%201704120704.pdf\">an omnichannel<\/a><em>,\u00a0\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Prof Sri<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>Omnichannel means providing unlimited access to customers when shopping\u00a0online\u00a0and\u00a0offline\u00a0through communication channels into one universal interface.\u00a0In this case, for example, purchasing products from Instagram can be interconnected with various platforms in the store.<\/p>\n\n<p>Prof. Sri also emotionally expressed her gratitude to her parents, family, UNAIR academic community, and everyone who provided support. She is also committed to making FEB the front guard in preparing the digitalization of MSMEs so they can compete in the global market.
