{"id":196611,"date":"2023-04-03T10:28:53","date_gmt":"2023-04-03T03:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/face-serum-from-butterfly-pea-flower-extract-made-by-unair-obtains-bpom-permit-permit\/"},"modified":"2023-04-04T12:34:13","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T05:34:13","slug":"face-serum-from-butterfly-pea-flower-extract-made-by-unair-obtains-bpom-permit-permit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/face-serum-from-butterfly-pea-flower-extract-made-by-unair-obtains-bpom-permit-permit\/","title":{"rendered":"Face serum from butterfly pea flower extract made by UNAIR obtains BPOM permit Permit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>UNAIR NEWS \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The academic community\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/\">of 51动漫 (UNAIR)<\/a>\u00a0continues to make innovations.\u00a0This time, a facial serum made from butterfly pea, a collaboration with students and lecturers of the Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) UNAIR finally received a distribution permit from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) in early 2023.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;BPOM (permit) for serum products was issued last January, and the production is still\u00a0at <em>loading<\/em>\u00a0stage from April to May under the guidance of BSI (Bank Syariah Indonesia, ed) Maslahat,&#8221; said Daniyal Firmansyah in an interactive dialogue with Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Surabaya, Saturday, April 1, 2023.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Flashback of innovation journey<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/mahasiswa-unair-ciptakan-skincare-alami-dari-ekstrak-bunga-telang\/\"><em>UNAIR NEWS<\/em><\/a>\u00a0, the facial serum is one of the Velife Skincare variants developed by Daniyal with four Traditional Medicine four-year vocational students.\u00a0Their innovation\u2014the Terence Team\u2014passed funding in the 2021 Vocational Student Entrepreneurship Week (PKMV) organized by the Directorate of Vocational and Professional Higher Education.<\/p>\n\n<p>Daniyal revealed that his team researched the butterfly pea flower because the plant was not only beneficial for health.\u00a0Furthermore, according to him, the high antioxidant content has the potential to be a raw material for beauty products such as facial serums for anti-aging\u00a0as well as moisturizing and brightening all skin types.<\/p>\n\n<p>In line with Daniyal, supervising lecturer Rini Hamsidi SFarm MFarm Apt explained that beauty products of butterfly pea flowers are still limited in the market. Beauty product innovation from natural ingredients has been developed since 2021. <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;There is anthocyanin pigment in butterfly pea flower which contains high antioxidants. We first looked for the dye because natural ingredients with attractive colors are definitely high in antioxidants,&#8221; added Rini, also present at the Interactive Dialog.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Development of beauty product variants<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>In addition to serum, continued Daniyal, various beauty products have been made from the butterfly pea flower, such as\u00a0face oil,\u00a0lip balm, and\u00a0face mask.\u00a0Of those three, only\u00a0face oil\u00a0is already a prototype, while\u00a0lip balm\u00a0is still in the refinement stage.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Traditional Medicine student said that he would develop skin care products such as\u00a0moisturizer,\u00a0sunscreen, and\u00a0face wash\u00a0made from butterfly pea flowers.\u00a0These raw materials are proven safe because they are taken from certified places, including Kampung Hydroponics Surabaya.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Traditional Medicine student said that he would develop skin care products such as\u00a0moisturizer,\u00a0sunscreen, and\u00a0face wash\u00a0made from butterfly pea flowers.\u00a0These raw materials are proven safe because they are taken from certified places, including Kampung Hydroponics Surabaya.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;We are not going to promote the butterfly pea flower only, but also other Indonesian flowers.
