UNAIR NEWS<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Internship activities are golden opportunities for students to explore the professional world.\u00a0The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) provides various internship programs that students can take part in.\u00a0One of them is the Emancipated Campus Competition Program\u00a0(PK-KM).\u00a0<\/a>Muhammad Rafi Athallah Jatmiko, a student at the Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline\u00a0(FTMM)<\/a>\u00a051动漫 (UNAIR)<\/a>,\u00a0is undergoing PK-KM at PT Industri Kereta Api\u00a0(INKA)<\/a>\u00a0(Persero).\u00a0He believes more competitive work experience is an important aspect for recruiters.<\/p>\n\n

Blending electronics and programming science<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Rafi said that students can convert 20 \u2013 24 credits through this internship activity. So, no subjects are left behind during the internship. Internship activities can allow students to explore research topics that can be used in writing a thesis.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThere are many topics available at the internship company, especially since I am in the Tier 1 Systems and Components Department. The focus of my position is on developing train components, such as monitoring bogies\u00a0whose work is related to electronics and programming subject\u201d said the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering (TRKB) student.<\/p>\n\n

Familiar with railway industry<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

In this department, Rafi works on a\u00a0bogie monitoring\u00a0project on trains.\u00a0An innovation that can potentially change the future of the railway industry.\u00a0He is developing a tool to monitor train conditions in\u00a0real-time\u00a0and determine whether the train needs maintenance.\u00a0The monitor has several sensors, such as vibration, temperature and pressure sensors for train brakes.<\/p>\n\n

Internship activities at State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) are not just routine work.\u00a0Rather, it is a magical window that can take students into the world of train-making.\u00a0Rafi admitted that the experience he gained through his internship at INKA had opened his eyes and given him an irreplaceable perspective\u201cIf I had not interned at INKA, I would not have witnessed every step of the train manufacturing process from start to finish before distribution.\u00a0Moreover, I can see other projects such as\u00a0Light Rail Transit\u00a0(LRT),\u00a0Battery Tram, and many more.\u00a0Furthermore, interns here have the opportunity to be involved in testing the first\u00a0hybrid\u00a0train in Indonesia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

Rafi believes that learning through internships is the best way to combine theory with practice. Internship is a medium for honing skills, solving challenges, and achieving success in the complex professional world.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cI hope that this valuable experience in the BUMN environment will be a valuable provision that can strengthen opportunities for success in the future,\u201d concluded the class of 2020 student.<\/p>\n\n
