UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> – 51动漫<\/a> (UNAIR) has gained an international recognition. It is ranked 81st in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024. UNAIR made it to the Top 100 worldwide among 1,963 institutions from all over the world.<\/p>\n\n

Domestically, UNAIR is ranked 2nd in THE Impact Rankings 2024. These rankings assess universities based on their contributions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n\n

Bayu Arie Fianto PhD, Head of UNAIR’s SDGs Center, said that UNAIR’s position has continuously improved since 2021. Since then, UNAIR’s SDGs Center has committed to reporting all ongoing activities. \u201cAlmost all of our activities are closely related to the SDGs, and we are always committed to reporting them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

Four outstanding points<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

UNAIR achieved the top global position for SDG 1, No Poverty. Fianto explained that UNAIR has long been implementing poverty eradication programs, including waiving or reducing tuition fees and engaging in community entrepreneurship development programs. “The goal is for society to be prosperous and empowered,” he stated.<\/p>\n\n

UNAIR\u2019s entrepreneurship development program manifests as community service. Participants receive training on startups, networking skills, and financial support. Additionally, research and publication play a crucial role in achieving the No Poverty goal.<\/p>\n\n

UNAIR collaborates with various partners to address poverty. “We collaborate with many villages, business communities, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). We also collaborate with various units and directorates within UNAIR and with Islamic social institutions that partner with UNAIR to help the community,” Fianto explained.<\/p>\n\n

In the area of SDG No. 5, Gender Equality, UNAIR ranked 4th globally. UNAIR realizes this goal by providing opportunities for women to pursue higher education. “Many generations of women have continued their education at UNAIR,” he said.<\/p>\n\n

UNAIR also provides opportunities for women to act as policy makers. \u201cWe value women and their roles at the executive level, as evidenced by the significant number of female leaders at UNAIR. Women are also involved in research, community service, education, and teaching,\u201d Fianto said. <\/p>\n\n

He emphasized that UNAIR will always provide opportunities for women to develop themselves. \u201cWomen have the same opportunities as men. They have the chance to pursue higher education and contribute,\u201d he affirmed. In realizing gender equality, UNAIR partners with other universities and local governments.<\/p>\n\n

Additionally, for SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals, UNAIR is ranked 42nd in the world while for SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, UNAIR is ranked 49th globally.<\/p>\n\n

Follow-up and expectations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Furthermore, UNAIR will always strive to improve its achievements. Moreover, UNAIR has just been chosen to lead the Indonesia SDGs Center Network. This elevates UNAIR’s reputation in achieving SDGs, serving as an example for other institutions. \u201cI think we (UNAIR) can become a model for achieving the SDGs, contributing to the SDGs until 2030,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

Bayu hopes that all components can unite to realize sustainable development together. \u201cWith supports, we can improve UNAIR’s role in achieving other SDG points. There are 17 points, and hopefully, we can be active in all of them,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n\n
