{"id":326982,"date":"2024-10-28T16:40:29","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T09:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/unair-collaborates-with-wasd-to-examine-ais-role-in-supporting-sustainable-development\/"},"modified":"2024-10-29T16:03:27","modified_gmt":"2024-10-29T09:03:27","slug":"unair-collaborates-with-wasd-to-examine-ais-role-in-supporting-sustainable-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/unair-collaborates-with-wasd-to-examine-ais-role-in-supporting-sustainable-development\/","title":{"rendered":"UNAIR collaborates with WASD to examine AI\u2019s Role in supporting sustainable development"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 The World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) <a href=\"http:\/\/unair.ac.id\">51动漫<\/a> (UNAIR) has continued its efforts to foster collaboration and accelerate the application of Industry 5.0 technology through the international conference, \u201cImplementation of Artificial Intelligence to Support Sustainable Development Summit 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>This event, hosted in partnership with the UK-based World Association for Sustainability Development (WASD), took place in a hybrid format at Majapahit Hall, ASEEC Tower, Dharmawangsa-B Campus, on October 28, 2024.<\/p>\n\n<p>Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, UNAIR Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development and Chair of WUACD, hopes that the event would foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing digital health.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-79a6d1049cae29d0fab9af447b00d9f7\"><strong>Supporting SDGs<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>In her opening remarks, Prof. Puspaningsih emphasized the importance of a multisectoral and multidisciplinary approach in harnessing AI for digital health. \u201cThis initiative is not only about improving public health through digitalization but also about maintaining environmental balance for long-term sustainability,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n<p>As part of its commitment, WUACD UNAIR is developing programs to support green spaces. According to Prof. Puspaningsih, the \u201cgreen island\u201d concept plays a key role in environmental management, providing clean air that directly benefits public health.<\/p>\n\n<p>Integrating industry 5.0 technology with environmental awareness, a positive impact on society can be achieved, showcasing that technological advancement can coexist with conservation efforts.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cWe aim to create a sustainable approach in maintaining green islands and mangrove areas, as protecting oxygen sources and green spaces is vital for future public health,\u201d Prof. Puspaningsih added.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d6f2d5b645442697bfb17da69e822f4f\"><strong>Advancing AI in health innovation<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>Prof. Allam Ahmed, Chair of the World Association for Sustainability Development (WASD), also emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange for AI applications that monitor and enhance health programs across countries. \u201cWe continue to support the transfer of AI expertise to strengthen health programs throughout the WUACD network,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n\n<p>Prof. Ahmed added that this initiative will broaden understanding of AI\u2019s potential for early, accurate disease detection, accelerate medical research and drug development, and improve healthcare access through digital applications and platforms.
