UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 Students from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at 51动漫<\/a> (UNAIR) have achieved a significant national milestone. Ridhwan Fadly Saputra and Memoreza Sabana emerged as champions at the 2024 Creativepreneur Competition, held at BIM University Bali on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Their innovative project offers a solution to the growing problem of electronic waste.<\/p>\n\n

This year\u2019s competition, themed Empowering Youth for Business Revolution, highlighted innovative ideas from young entrepreneurs. Fadly and Memoreza\u2019s winning concept, Fixer, is a digital platform designed to facilitate electronic repairs and manage e-waste effectively.<\/p>\n\n

Addressing e-waste challenge<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

In an interview with UNAIR NEWS, Saputra explained that their project was inspired by the increasing production of electronic waste (e-waste). Fixer offers an app-based platform that simplifies electronic repairs, allowing users to book services and have technicians provide on-site repairs at their homes.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cFrom our analysis, the growing production of e-waste leads to significant environmental damage, including water, air, and soil pollution. According to the Global E-Waste Monitor 2024, electronic waste is projected to reach 82 million tons by 2030. This issue not only harms the environment but also poses health risks. That\u2019s why we developed Fixer,\u201d Saputra explained.<\/p>\n\n

Motivation and vision<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Saputra noted that the team\u2019s inspiration came from their daily experiences with the lack of accessible repair solutions. They identified an opportunity to create an online service for electronic repairs. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe noticed there wasn\u2019t an existing innovation that offered online electronic repair services, especially one that allowed technicians to visit customers\u2019 homes directly. That insight inspired us to develop an app-based business idea to make these services more accessible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

Reflecting on their experience in the competition, Saputra emphasized the valuable lessons they learned. \u201cWe realized that achieving victory requires unwavering effort. As students, our hope is to continue creating and never give up on pursuing our dreams. Dreams can be achieved if we have the courage to seize every opportunity that lies ahead,\u201d Saputra concluded.<\/p>\n\n
