Feminism seeks equality, not superiority<\/strong><\/h5>\n\nThe seminar featured keynote speaker Aurellia Rikza Paramitha, the 2024 East Java Raki Tourism Ambassador. She underscored that feminism is not about establishing female dominance over men, but about advocating for equal rights and opportunities for all.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cFeminism is not a movement for women to overpower men. It\u2019s about creating equality for everyone, regardless of gender. Men can be feminists too if they believe in equal treatment for all,\u201d she said during her address.<\/p>\n\n
Paramitha also emphasized that women who speak out are not being combative\u2014they are simply exercising their right to critical thinking and free expression. Feminism, she added, empowers women to voice their thoughts confidently and without fear.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cFeminism is not about reversing power dynamics from men to women. It\u2019s about ensuring equal rights and opportunities in all aspects of life\u2014at home, on campus, and in the workplace,\u201d she stated firmly.<\/p>\n\n
The seminar was designed as an interactive discussion that not only offered educational content but also invited students to share their personal experiences as women in creative fields, education, and social movements. A highlight of the event was a spirited Kahoot quiz titled Feminism: Myth or Fact, which sparked laughter and excitement while helping deepen the participants\u2019 understanding of gender-related issues in an engaging way.<\/p>\n\n
The event concluded with a symbolic gesture: participants and organizers distributed flowers and Kartini Day greeting cards to members of the local community. The act was intended to recognize the everyday contributions of women and to promote the message of equality. With the spirit of Kartini as its inspiration, HERvolution aims to encourage FIKKIA students\u2014especially women\u2014to continue developing their potential and to become drivers of change both on campus and in the broader society.<\/p>\n\n
