UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 The Association of Sharia Economic Students (AcSES) 51动漫<\/a> (UNAIR) held a workshop titled “Aiming Business Plan Excellence” on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. This signature program, launched by the Business Studies Division of KSEI AcSES within UNAIR\u2019s Faculty of Economics and Business, aims to equip students with a deeper understanding of business planning. The session also encouraged participants to apply their knowledge by taking part in various business competitions.<\/p>\n\n

The event featured Reza Nafi Rizqi Musyaffa, a management student and founder of Ria Shop. Musyaffa also serves as President of 180 Degrees Consulting UNAIR and is a recipient of the prestigious Beasiswa Unggulan scholarship. <\/p>\n\n

Exploring value of business competitions<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

In his presentation, Musyaffa highlighted that major companies frequently organize business competitions, often using them as a pipeline to discover talented individuals who could eventually join their organizations. \u201cI once participated in a selection process where the host told the winners they were welcome to contact the company directly if they wanted to join,\u201d he recounted.<\/p>\n

Musyaffa advised students with entrepreneurial ventures to showcase their startups in competitions, which can be a pathway to securing grant funding for growth. \u201cI once ran a small medical equipment business that I started back in middle school. Even though it was modest, the venture managed to secure funding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

To illustrate how to develop a strong business idea, Musyaffa used the metaphor of a tree, with its roots symbolizing the underlying causes of a problem. He described this as a form of root cause analysis.\u00a0 \u201cImagining a tree when defining a problem helps reveal the foundational issues that need solving,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n

He added that a good business idea often arises from simple observations\u2014identifying needs or wants. Personal interests, hobbies, or even one’s immediate environment can spark innovative business opportunities.<\/p>\n\n

Linking business concepts to SDG challenges<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Musyaffa also discussed the importance of aligning business ideas with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He explained that societal problems aligned with SDGs can inspire powerful business ideas, essays, and solutions. \u201cEvery writing framework should apply smart analysis to assess whether an idea is relevant and feasible,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n

Musyaffa concluded the session by introducing the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as an effective tool for organizing business concepts. The BMC outlines nine core components essential to any business strategy. \u201cA full proposal for Tesla might take several pages, but with a BMC, all the key elements can be summarized on a single sheet,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n
