UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 51动漫\u2019s<\/a> Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) took part in the 2025 Indolivestock Expo, hosted by PT Napindo Media Ashatama. During the event, FKH UNAIR showcased its role as an academic institution driving innovation and research to support the downstream development of Indonesia\u2019s livestock industry.<\/p>\n\n

At their interactive booth, FKH featured research outputs, laboratory services, and practical animal health education designed to benefit the broader livestock sector. The three-day event was held from Wednesday to Friday (July 2\u20134, 2025) at Grand City Convex, Surabaya.<\/p>\n\n

FKH\u2019s presence at the expo underscored how academic institutions can connect scientific discoveries with real-world industry needs. It also highlighted efforts to build a knowledge-based, sustainable, and healthy livestock ecosystem through stronger collaboration among scholars, industry players, and government agencies.<\/p>\n\n

Advancing research into real-world impact<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Representing FKH UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Mustofa Helmi Effendi, DVM, DTAPH, stated that the university\u2019s participation exemplifies how higher education can generate meaningful societal contributions. \u201cThe innovations we\u2019re presenting include new developments in veterinary science, animal husbandry, and pharmaceuticals. We want to demonstrate that academic research can directly strengthen national food security through animal-based protein,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Prof. Effendi also emphasized the importance of translating research into tangible benefits beyond academic journals. \u201cOur goal is for these findings not to stop at publication. We encourage researchers to deliver solutions that industries and communities can use\u2014addressing local challenges in livestock production, disease control, and animal health education,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n

He also noted that addressing issues within the livestock industry requires integrated collaboration. \u201cWe need upstream-to-downstream cooperation. UNAIR is ready to work hand-in-hand with stakeholders to confront global challenges through research and practical solutions,\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n\n

Multisector collaboration to strengthen food security<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Lisa Rusli, Assistant Project Director at PT Napindo Media Ashatama, said the expo is a reflection of real commitment to advancing the livestock industry. \u201cThis year marks the 18th edition of the expo, featuring over 300 participants from both domestic and international sectors, including China, Taiwan, Denmark, and several European countries. We also welcomed 40 government ministries, agencies, and research associations,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The event also included sessions promoting the Milk, Meat, Eggs, and Fish (SDTI) program\u2014an initiative aligned with this year\u2019s focus on child nutrition in Indonesia. \u201cWe believe sustainability should be actionable. The SDTI program is a strategic food intervention aimed at meeting the nation\u2019s nutritional needs,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n

Meanwhile, East Java Livestock Services Head, Ir. Indyah Aryani, MM, speaking on behalf of the Governor, acknowledged East Java\u2019s vital role as Indonesia\u2019s livestock production hub. \u201cWe\u2019re working to address key challenges such as import reliance, production inefficiencies, and animal disease threats,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n

She emphasized the importance of this forum as a space to develop holistic, end-to-end solutions. \u201cEast Java is committed to fostering an inclusive business environment through digitalization and export support. We hope the collaboration fostered by this expo will strengthen the global competitiveness of Indonesia\u2019s livestock industry,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n\n
