Held at Grand City Convex from Wednesday to Friday (July 2\u20134, 2025), the event served as a platform for FKH UNAIR to showcase a range of research-driven innovations aimed at improving livestock practices.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-84874c465b3f5067d1043dfb5cbeb469\"><strong>Rapid test device for water-injected meat<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>Among the key highlights was a rapid testing device designed to detect water-injected meat. The tool was developed by Prof. Dr. Mochammad Lazuardi, Drh., M.Si., and his team from FKH UNAIR. It enables users to assess the water content in meat swiftly and accurately.<\/p>\n\n<p>This innovation offers a user-friendly operation and quick results. It functions through a diazotization-based color reaction observable at a visible wavelength. The device\u2019s standout feature is its battery-powered mechanism, eliminating the need for specialized electrical components, which makes it portable and easy to use.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cPreviously, testing meat for water injection required cutting the sample,\u201d explained Alfina, an FKH UNAIR student managing the booth. \u201cWith this device, there&#8217;s no need to cut the meat first. It\u2019s cheaper, more practical, and convenient to use anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-76567594ed6339333eef03f4ba9bc9d9\"><strong>Manual bolus press tool<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>FKH UNAIR also introduced a manually operated bolus press, designed specifically for administering large doses of medication to large livestock such as ruminants. Constructed from triple-layered stainless steel, the device includes an upper punch, middle die, lower punch, and a rubber mallet. Its key advantages lie in its affordability and ease of use.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThis device is tailored for large animals that require substantial doses of medication,\u201d said Alfina. \u201cTo avoid repeated dosing, we can use this tool to create large bolus tablets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>The enthusiastic response from visitors at the UNAIR booth demonstrated strong interest in these innovations.
