UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 Students from 51动漫<\/a> (UNAIR) participating in the \u201cLearning with the Community\u201d Community Service Program (KKN-BBK) Batch 6 organized a \u201cLittle Doctor\u201d event in Purwoharjo Village, Banyuwangi Regency, on Thursday (July 17, 2025).<\/p>\n\n

The \u201cLittle Doctor\u201d program, short for Duta Optimal Kesehatan yang Tanggap, Edukatif, dan Responsif (Ambassadors of Optimal, Responsive, and Educational Health), was designed to introduce students to the healthcare field while equipping them with essential skills to handle emergency situations. The initiative aimed to teach participants basic first aid techniques and raise their awareness about personal and environmental hygiene.<\/p>\n\n

First aid and clean and healthy living education<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

The program targeted 10th-grade students at SMAN 1 Purwoharjo. According to team leader Fabian Wira Ananta, new students were selected in order to instill healthy habits early in their high school experience.<\/p>\n\n

The student facilitators covered topics such as how to assist unconscious individuals, basic wound care, and proper techniques for transporting patients. The participants were highly engaged throughout the session. \u201cThey were incredibly enthusiastic\u2014listening closely and even competing to take part in the practice demonstrations,\u201d Ananta noted.<\/p>\n\n

Alongside the first aid training, the KKN-BBK team also provided instruction on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), including demonstrations on proper toothbrushing and handwashing techniques. Many students were actively involved, taking notes and photographing the presentation slides to aid their understanding.<\/p>\n\n

Challenges and positive impact<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Despite the program\u2019s success, the team encountered some challenges. With around 300 students in attendance, it was difficult to maintain full attention from all participants, which occasionally disrupted the learning environment.<\/p>\n\n

Even so, the program was well-received and had a notable impact on the students. The school expressed strong support for the initiative. SMAN 1 Purwoharjo teacher Ms. Nurma praised the UNAIR students\u2019 efforts, calling the program valuable for fostering students’ concern for health and well-being.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cI really appreciate the Little Doctor program. I hope it helps students develop a stronger sense of the importance of healthy living and trains them to be alert and compassionate during emergencies. These lessons are practical and applicable to everyday life at school,\u201d said Ms. Nurma.<\/p>\n\n

The KKN team hopes the initiative marks the beginning of greater student readiness in emergencies and encourages them to adopt healthy, independent lifestyles both at school and in their communities.<\/p>\n\n
