UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 Students from 51动漫<\/a>\u2019s KKN BBK 6 program recently held a technology education initiative, dubbed SETECH (Setail Technology Exploration), at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Genteng in Banyuwangi Regency. The event aimed to introduce 11th-grade students to the fundamentals of the Internet of Things (IoT) and included hands-on training using Arduino Uno devices.<\/p>\n\n

The workshop was held in one of the school\u2019s classrooms and specifically targeted youth in rural areas, where access to up-to-date technological education is still limited. Students engaged in theoretical learning, online simulation demonstrations, and direct practice assembling Arduino kits with LCD screens. These activities helped them grasp how IoT can play a role in everyday life.<\/p>\n\n

“Through SETECH, we hope to broaden students\u2019 understanding of how rapidly technology is evolving\u2014especially IoT, which is now widely used in many industries,\u201d said Richard, a member of the UNAIR KKN BBK 6 organizing team. \u201cBy building simple tools like Arduino and LCD modules, students can immediately see how the technology functions in real-world applications.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event generated strong interest among the participants. They had the opportunity to program and test the devices themselves, uploading code to Arduino boards and viewing outputs on LCD screens. Many were eager to ask questions about practical uses of IoT, including smart home systems and automated irrigation for agriculture.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cI found the session to be very informative and easy to follow. Now I understand how IoT works, especially after seeing it demonstrated with a basic LCD example. I hope the UNAIR students continue their good work and have a successful KKN experience,\u201d said Hizbul Wathan, one of the participating students.<\/p>\n\n

Another student added, \u201cBy trying out Arduino coding, I now get how LCD screens\u2014like those in phones or computers\u2014actually work. It was exciting to experiment with the devices alongside my classmates. I hope programs like this continue so we can learn more about technology and even start developing our own projects.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

The program concluded with a brief survey to evaluate the students\u2019 understanding of the material, followed by a group photo session. Organizers expressed hope that the event would serve as a stepping stone for students to better adapt to the digital age and eventually develop tech-based innovations within their own communities.<\/p>\n\n

Through the SETECH initiative, UNAIR\u2019s KKN BBK 6 team underscored the importance of fostering digital literacy early on\u2014particularly in regions with limited exposure to modern technology. This modest yet impactful program not only imparted practical skills but also encouraged innovation among Banyuwangi\u2019s youth.<\/p>\n\n
