UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 The Applied Bachelor Program in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) under the Faculty of Vocational Studies, 51动漫<\/a> (UNAIR), held the Joint Class Program of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Conducted over three months in a hybrid format, the program included a five-day visit to Indonesia from September 22 to 27, 2025, involving both students and lecturers from the two universities.<\/p>\n\n

This initiative demonstrates UNAIR\u2019s ongoing efforts to expand its international network, particularly in the field of occupational health and safety. It also supports the global agenda of achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Throughout the program, participants joined a series of activities, including joint lectures on industrial toxicology, research presentations, and field visits focusing on the application of occupational health and safety practices at the Metal Handicraft Industry in Bejijong Village, Mojokerto Regency.<\/p>\n\n

New academic experience<\/h5>\n\n

Five Malaysian students \u2014 Azhari Hakimi Bin Mohd Farid, Wan Rauhah Adabiah Binti Wan Rashidi, Nurul Ain Najiha Binti Mohd Khalid, Safiah Najwa Binti Zaini, and Nur Afifah Syamimi Binti Zulkefli \u2014 took part in the joint class, accompanied by Fahimah Hashim, a staff representative from UPM. Among the most memorable experiences for participants was the field trip to the traditional metal craft industry in Bejijong, Mojokerto.<\/p>\n

During the visit, students observed the process of metal statue casting, identified potential occupational hazards, and formulated recommendations to enhance workplace health and safety.<\/p>\n\n

Beyond industrial learning, the participants also explored several historical landmarks from the Majapahit Kingdom era, including Trowulan Temple, Bajangratu Temple, and Tikus Temple in Mojokerto. These visits enriched their understanding of Indonesian culture and history. As a cultural finale, they visited iconic sites in Surabaya, such as the Cheng Hoo Mosque and Tunjungan Street, where they experienced the city\u2019s vibrant atmosphere at night.<\/p>\n\n

The program not only broadened the participants\u2019 academic perspectives but also strengthened institutional collaboration between UNAIR and UPM. This partnership is expected to pave the way for further cooperation in research, student exchanges, and other international academic initiatives.<\/p>\n\n

Through this Joint Class Program, UNAIR reaffirms its commitment to fostering international partnerships and solidifying its position as a university dedicated to achieving World Class University (WCU) status.<\/p>\n\n
