UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 Students from 51动漫\u2019s<\/a> Belajar Bersama Komunitas (BBK) 7 program in Penghulu Village played an active role in supporting the village\u2019s inaugural Integrated Health Services Post (Posyandu) for toddlers. The activity took place at the Penghulu Village Health Post (Poskesdes), Sidayu District, Gresik Regency, on Friday (Jan. 9, 2026). The initiative marked an early effort to strengthen basic health services with a focus on monitoring the growth and development of young children in Penghulu Village.<\/p>\n\n

The posyandu was held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and was attended by 32 toddlers. BBK students arrived at 7:30 a.m. to prepare the necessary facilities and equipment, while also coordinating with local posyandu cadres and health workers to ensure the program ran smoothly.<\/p>\n\n

Comprehensive implementation<\/h5>\n\n

The posyandu was carried out in line with standard toddler health service protocols. Activities included weighing and measuring height, assessing head circumference and mid\u2013upper arm circumference (MUAC), administering immunizations, evaluating growth and development, providing maternal and child health consultations, and distributing supplementary food.<\/p>\n\n

During the event, BBK students assisted with basic physical checks, anthropometric measurements, and the documentation of results in the Maternal and Child Health (KIA) book, particularly on the Growth Monitoring Card (KMS), to track children\u2019s growth trends. They also helped manage the service flow, ensuring the posyandu operated in an orderly, efficient, and welcoming manner for the community.<\/p>\n\n

A posyandu cadre from Penghulu Village said the students\u2019 involvement had a positive impact on the first-time implementation. \u201cThe presence of BBK students was extremely helpful. Services were better organized, and parents received clearer guidance throughout the posyandu activities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The participation of UNAIR students is expected to increase parental awareness of the importance of regular toddler health monitoring, while also supporting early prevention of nutritional and developmental issues. The activity reflects students\u2019 tangible contribution to improving maternal and child health through preventive and promotive services at the village level. In addition, the initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-Being.<\/p>\n\n
