UNAIR NEWS \u2013<\/b> Dr. Arif Nur Muhammad Ansori, an academic from 51动漫 (UNAIR), has officially been appointed to the editorial board of BMC Microbiology, a reputable international journal published under Springer Nature.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

This achievement is particularly notable as Dr. Ansori is the only academic from Indonesia to hold this strategic position. He explained that the opportunity to join the BMC Microbiology Editorial Board was not immediate.<\/p>\n\n

The appointment reflects a long-standing record of consistency in research and scientific publication. Dr. Ansori has actively published in reputable journals and served as a peer reviewer, ensuring the quality and objectivity of scholarly work.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThis opportunity is the result of sustained consistency. I also reached out directly to the editors of BMC Microbiology. After reviewing my publication record and active participation in the international scientific community, I was finally invited to join,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

Recognition of Indonesian research capacity<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

For Dr. Ansori, the appointment represents more than a personal achievement; it carries professional and national significance. He views the editorial board role as validation that Indonesian researchers are on par with global scientists.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cPersonally, this is an honor and a significant responsibility. Professionally, it demonstrates that Indonesian researchers can compete on the global stage. It also serves as a bridge for high-quality research, including work from developing countries, to receive deserved recognition,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

He added that selection for editorial boards at international journals is highly competitive. Major publishers like Springer Nature evaluate research productivity, h-index, quality of peer review contributions, and international collaboration networks. Scientific integrity is a critical criterion in this assessment.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Focus on virology and One Health<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

Dr. Ansori expertise in virology and molecular biology, along with his experience in international research collaborations between UNAIR and Kumamoto University, Japan, were key factors in his selection. His active involvement in global scientific organizations such as the American Society for Virology (ASV) and World Society for Virology (WSV) further reinforced his credibility.<\/p>\n\n

At BMC Microbiology, Dr. Ansori is responsible for overseeing manuscripts in virology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. Current topics of interest include emerging infectious diseases and the One Health approach, which are key priorities for the journal.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

As an editorial board member, he screens initial submissions, selects qualified peer reviewers, and makes final decisions based on scientific evaluation. He also ensures the peer review process is ethical, transparent, and efficient.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
