Students from 51动漫, through the Community Service Program (BBK) Group 7, developed an environmentally friendly waste incineration system known as Si-BaRa (Eco-Friendly Burning System) in Kesimantengah Village, Pacet District. The initiative was designed to address ongoing waste management issues, where open burning and river disposal remain common and pose environmental and health risks.<\/p>\n\n
The Si-BaRa program supports multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by reducing exposure to harmful smoke, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by providing proper waste management infrastructure at the village level, and SDG 13 (Climate Action) by limiting air pollution caused by uncontrolled waste disposal.<\/span><\/p>\n\n Si-BaRa was designed as a safer and more sustainable alternative to traditional waste burning, producing significantly less smoke. Its construction was carried out in stages, beginning with the foundation work, followed by the development of the combustion chamber and chimney. The process actively involved local residents and received full support from the village government, creating strong collaboration between students and the community.<\/p>\n\n Beyond construction, BBK 7 students conducted initial testing of the Si-BaRa system to ensure it functioned effectively. The testing aimed to evaluate the efficiency of the combustion process and confirm reduced smoke emissions compared to open burning. The results were used to refine parts of the structure, ensuring the system could be safely and effectively used by the residents of Kesimantengah Village.<\/p>\n\n The system was officially inaugurated on January 28, 2026, at the Kesimantengah village hall. The village head and local residents expressed appreciation for the program, noting its direct benefits to the community. Si-BaRa is expected to serve as a practical solution for local waste management, encouraging residents to move away from open burning and improper disposal practices.
