UNAIR NEWS<\/b> \u2013 51动漫 (UNAIR), through its Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI), inaugurated DRI Week 2026: <\/span>When Research Meets Innovation<\/span><\/i> on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Management Office, MERR-C Campus. This event marked a decisive step toward fortifying a collaborative research ecosystem designed to accelerate the commercialization and downstreaming of scholarly innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development (RICD), Prof. Muhammad Miftahussurur, dr., M.Kes., Sp.PD-KGEH, Ph.D., FINASIM, emphasized that research and innovation were indispensable to a university’s mission to serve the public. He characterized DRI Week as a strategic forum for consolidating institutional resources and broadening the practical application of the university\u2019s triple mission (Tri Dharma).<\/p>\n\n

Driving implementable research solutions<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

Prof. Miftahussurur elucidated that modern higher education had to transcend traditional academic boundaries by fostering active engagement between scholars, the public, industry leaders, and government agencies. By adopting this multi-stakeholder framework, the university aimed to generate a more profound and tangible societal impact.<\/p>\n\n

He further noted that cross-sector synergy was the cornerstone of fostering research that delivered practical solutions rather than remaining siloed within theoretical frameworks. This collaborative model was intended to streamline the path from laboratory breakthroughs to real-world applications.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cDRI Week functions as both a catalyst for the exchange of ideas and a platform for concrete actions aimed at building an adaptive, science-based innovation ecosystem,\u201d Prof. Miftahussurur stated.<\/p>\n\n

Industry synergy as a catalyst for innovation\u00a0<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

The Research and Development Manager at PT Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia, Apt. Christian Karol Saputra, S.Farm., M.Biotek., presented a session titled Helix Synergy in End-to-End Drug Development. He explained that pharmaceutical development was a capital-intensive, long-term endeavor that required innovation to move with increasing velocity to meet public health demands.<\/p>\n

Saputra identified the commercialization process as the primary obstacle in the lifecycle of innovation. He maintained that overcoming this complexity required robust institutional support to ensure that high-level research outcomes ultimately translated into accessible public health solutions.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe integration of academia, industry, and government is essential to bridging the gap between a research concept and a market-ready product. Seamless partnerships are the primary driver of successful innovation downstreaming,\u201d Saputra concluded.<\/p>\n\n

Underscoring this commitment, the event culminated in the formalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNAIR and PT Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia. This strategic alliance reinforced the connection between the university and the private sector, specifically targeting the acceleration of applicable research and industrial innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
