UNAIR NEWS<\/b> \u2013 To enhance students\u2019 academic productivity, CESGS 51动漫 (UNAIR) hosted a guest lecture titled Efficient Research Design and Academic Productivity. The session featured Dr. Arumega Zarefar, SE.,\u00a0M.Ak., Akt., CA, an Associate Professor and Lecturer at Universitas Riau, and was held in person on April 15, 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Dr. Zarefar explained that each stage of an academic journey comes with distinct expectations. In the early phase, students are encouraged to choose research topics that demonstrate novelty and align with their supervisors\u2019 interests. As they move forward, their work should become more structured and scientifically grounded. At more advanced levels, researchers are expected to publish in reputable international journals with deeper and more comprehensive analysis. She acknowledged that these demands can be challenging.<\/p>\n\n

Strong research foundation<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

She noted that research design serves as the foundation of any study. Without a clear and well-developed design, research can easily lose direction. It acts as a guide for researchers in determining methods, selecting variables, and navigating the publication process. \u201cIt is better to limit the number of variables. Ideally, focus on one and develop it thoroughly,\u201d she said. For that reason, identifying the research urgency and its problem-solving value is crucial.<\/p>\n\n

She also advised researchers to avoid including too many variables, as this may weaken the study\u2019s focus. Additionally, reviewing relevant scholarly articles is essential for strengthening theoretical perspectives and refining ideas. Although often underestimated, this practice plays a significant role in producing high-quality research.<\/p>\n\n

Challenges and strategies to improve academic productivity<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

Dr. Zarefar further outlined common pitfalls faced by beginner researchers. One frequent issue is selecting overly broad titles, which can make the study less focused. In addition, vague definitions of variables can lead to unclear or ambiguous findings.<\/p>\n\n

She also emphasized the importance of upholding academic integrity by avoiding plagiarism. Researchers should develop their ideas independently and support their arguments with credible prior studies. In closing, Dr. Zarefar stated that academic productivity can be improved through logical reasoning, well-formulated hypotheses, and a structured research framework. With these elements in place, research can be more focused and generate meaningful contributions at both national and global levels.<\/p>\n\n
