Conducted in collaboration with Hacktiv8, the session, titled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI for Work &amp; Career Readiness with Google AI Products<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, took place virtually via Zoom Meeting on Friday, April 17, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the session, Ahmad Zain Fahmi, HR Development Specialist, encouraged participants to explore automation as a key concept in the modern workplace. He explained that automation plays a crucial role in improving efficiency amid increasing productivity demands. \u201cWhen you start working and face busy schedules, automation features will significantly help simplify daily tasks,\u201d Fahmi said.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c2bf68275b994c215e79c02ec8db1c9e\"><b>Automation platforms<\/b><\/h5>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fahmi explained that automation refers to systems that perform tasks automatically based on predefined rules. He highlighted the differences between automation, AI, and AI-powered automation. \u201cAutomation follows rules without thinking. AI, on the other hand, can analyze and make decisions. Meanwhile, AI-powered automation combines both capabilities,\u201d Fahmi explained.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>He also introduced the Gemini ecosystem and Zapier as platforms that support workplace automation. According to Fahmi, these platforms help users streamline workflows, from simple tasks to more complex processes.<\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gemini consists of three main uses: standard Gemini for basic needs, Gemini Gems for creating systems with repeated interaction patterns, and Gemini Opal as the most advanced feature capable of building AI-based mini applications. Meanwhile, Zapier is a platform that connects multiple applications without requiring coding. It allows different processes to be integrated into a single workflow.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFor example, when a customer fills out a Google Form, the data can automatically be transferred to a spreadsheet. It can then trigger automated emails or vouchers to users. Zapier enables applications to connect and run automatically without repeated manual setup,\u201d Fahmi said.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The training program, part of the AI Opportunity Fund Asia Pacific initiative supported by Google.org and the Asian Development Bank, encouraged participants, particularly students, to understand how to design automation systems more practically and efficiently.
