UNAIR NEWS Reinforcing its commitment to fostering student entrepreneurship, the Directorate of Student Affairs held the Airlangga Young Entrepreneur Bootcamp on Saturday (May 2, 2026) at Auditorium Ternate, ASEEC Tower, Dharmawangsa-B Campus UNAIR. The program represents one of the university檚 initiatives to develop innovative young entrepreneurs capable of generating positive social impact.
The bootcamp featured several industry practitioners and entrepreneurs, including Ensi Pebreany Tjoe, Perry Angglishartono, and Wahyu Priyantono. Each speaker shared practical insights and personal experiences from building businesses in their respective fields.

Importance of financial planning
Tjoe stressed that solid financial management is a fundamental factor in sustaining business growth. She explained that entrepreneurship relies on three essential elements: access to capital, identifying the right business sector, and choosing a strategic location. 淚n business, we need to recognize opportunities and build partnerships while considering those three factors. If you want to start a business, begin with the resources and skills you already possess because that is often sufficient to take the first step, she said.
She also emphasized that financial planning is central to building a stable enterprise. According to Tjoe, entrepreneurs must prioritize four major financial components: revenue, expenditures, assets, and liabilities. 淏usiness owners need to consider startup capital, assets that can support operations, operating expenses generated through sales, as well as obligations that must be fulfilled, including operational, moral, social, and sustainability responsibilities, she added.
Keys to success
Supporting Tjoe檚 remarks, Angglishartono presented the development of his family business as an example intended to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs. He explained that PT Jamu Iboe Jaya places strong emphasis on perception, innovation, and production opportunities. 淭he Covid-19 pandemic became a major turning point for the herbal beverage industry, driven by government support and growing public interest in healthy lifestyles. Jamu Iboe has survived across four generations by continuously adapting through innovation and staying relevant to changing times, he said.
Concluding the session, Priyantono underlined the importance of forecasting analysis in business management. According to him, forecasting can help companies reduce potential losses, establish realistic targets, support major decision-making, and maintain operational control. He noted that forecasting has become increasingly necessary due to shifting consumer behavior, economic uncertainty, and rapidly changing business trends. 淓ffective forecasting should be grounded in sales data, followed by identifying business trend patterns, analyzing future conditions, and developing logical assumptions, he explained.
