UNAIR NEWS Two students from the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences (FIKKIA), 51动漫 (UNAIR), have once again earned national recognition. Adinda Rizki Novia Tamara and Teguh Parmonangan Hasibuan brought home a Bronze Medal, Honorable Medal, and Favorite Poster at the National Essay Competition Ignite Future Fest 2026.
The competition, organized by Futura Innovation Hub in collaboration with UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, was held on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 to 13, 2026. Around 200 participants from universities across Indonesia competed by presenting innovative ideas addressing social issues and sustainable development.
Safe Space School innovation for student protection
They secured the Bronze Medal through an essay titled SAFE SPACE SCHOOL: Model for protecting children from sexual violence in schools through integration of psychosocial approaches and Sahabat Aman digital platform based on trust chain system. The idea was developed in response to the high number of sexual violence cases in educational settings that remain underreported.
Through the Safe Space School concept, Tamara and Hasibuan proposed a child protection model that combines psychosocial approaches with the Sahabat Aman platform. The model is designed to create a safe environment where students can report experiences of violence without fear or pressure.
淭he high number of sexual violence cases in schools shows that children need a protection system that is safe, reliable, and victim-centered. That is why we introduced the Safe Space School concept as a more humane and adaptive solution, Tamara said.
The system is built on three main pillars: preventive education, victim assistance, and a digital reporting mechanism based on the Trust-Chain System and Gradual Identity Disclosure System (GIDS). This approach allows victims to disclose their identity gradually according to their psychological readiness, encouraging them to come forward.
Wins Favorite Poster and Honorable Medal
In addition, they earned an Honorable Medal and Favorite Poster through an essay titled THE SENTIENT CITY: Transforming proactive governance through neural civic hub and social impact bonds to achieve inclusive development (SDG 11 and 16). The concept emphasizes the importance of strengthening urban governance through smart technology.
Their Neural Civic Hub is designed as an intelligent control center capable of detecting public service issues quickly and responding effectively. Meanwhile, the Social Impact Bonds (SIB) scheme is proposed to engage the private sector in sustaining public services.
淥ur biggest challenge was time management, as we had to complete two essays on different topics within a limited timeframe. However, we supported each other and divided responsibilities effectively, allowing each idea to be developed to its fullest potential, Hasibuan said.
The achievement is expected to encourage other students to continue innovating and delivering impactful solutions for society, particularly in child protection and inclusive public service development.
