1,000 FKH Alumni Return to Campus

UNAIR NEWS “The alma mater is the best place for reunion especially after decades of not seeing each other.Therefore, Alumni Association (IKA) of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) of 51¶¯Âþ held a grand reunion.The event held on Sunday, December 10 was attended by more than 1,000 alumni of FKH from 1970 to 2011.

In purple uniform, thousands of alumni crowded every corner of the faculty who always echo the jargon “Viva Veteriner”. Vice Dean III FKH UNAIR who is also Head of the Committee Prof. Dr.Suwarno, drh., M.Si.In his speech, he stated that the grand reunion was conducted with various activities.

In addition to bazaars, photo booths, reflexology, and entertainment, for the class of 1973, 1974, 1975, the committee invited alumni to go on campus tour. They first visited the place where they started their studies.Next, they went to campus B, to Farma Veterinary Center (PUSVETMA) and Setail Veterinary Hospital (RSH) as the practice work.

Regarding the enthusiastic participants, Prof.Suwarno admitted that this is a form of awareness of alumni.They remember the alma mater.

“This shows that alumnuseleng kandange(remember their origins),” said Prof.Suwarno.

In addition, Prof.Suwarno did not forget to invite the alumni to welcome 48 years of FKH UNAIR especially in improving the quality of education.The alumni were also invited to fill thetracer studyas a benchmark quality of graduates.

“I hope alumni will also play an active role indiscussions,both viaWhatsAppÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýe-mail,” Prof.Suwarno said.

Furthermore, the speech was delivered by the Dean of FKH UNAIR Prof.Dr.Pudji Srianto, M.Kes., Ph.D.in the festive event of the grand reunion, Prof.Pudji who is also the Head of IKA FKH UNAIR stated that the early years, 1970-1975, were memorable early generations.

Before giving a presentation, Prof.Pudji recalled memories of his early years as a student.As one of the early generations, Prof.Pudji has witnessed the development of FKH from campus A, B, and finally settled in Campus C as it is today.He realized, FKH as one of the oldest faculty in Indonesia, FKH UNAIR alumni have been active to serve various important roles in the world of veterinary medicine in Indonesia.

“We know, Indonesia already has eleven campuses with Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.In five of those universities, the Deans of FKH are alumni of UNAIR, ” he said proudly.

Before ending the speech, Prof.Pudji introduced various important officials in FKH UNAIR.Furthermore, the alumnus of FKH 1975 invited alumni to participate in improving campus facilities specially FKH facilities.

Prof.Pudji encouraged alumni to take part in the industrial world to support the downstream process of FKH UNAIR scientists™ research results.“Every year there are more than 50 research results of theacademic community ofFKH UNAIR that have not been manufactured yet.Hopefully alumni who work in the industry can support this, ” he concluded.
