UNAIR NEWS In the last April, three medical student 2014 won as the runner up in the national mural competition were Estya Nadya Meitavany, Emildha Dwi Agustina, and Shabrina Noor Rachmi. The competition was held by Liga Medika FK universitas Indonesia at Kesenian Nyi Ageng Serang Hall, Jakarta.
They were never tried to make mural before, but they attempted to show their best and compete with competitors from others university in Indonesia.
When they were kid, they had same hobby like drawing and coloring. They told that often joined drawing competitions during their childhood. So, it made them have the high confident to show their masterpiece.
Those three combined their creativity on canvas to create expressionism mural.
淎t the time, we agree to make art that implicitly explained about dangers of drug. Unbelievable, our first mural won the runner up, Estya said
First experience in making mural was a challenge for them.
淲e used to drawing or painting on the simple media. But it was so different when we painted on mural, the media was bigger, more difficult yet very fun, Shabrina said
Their participation in this competition was a way to express their selves. They felt satisfied to express imagination and creativity.
Unfortunately, there was no art community to facilitate their passion.
淭here is no mural or painting community in FK 51动漫, we hope someday it will be. When someday UNAIR has, we will really enthusiastic to join in, Emildha said
Mural is the popular artwork painted to express imagination or even idea in the drawing form and directly applied o wall and etc.
Mural artwork enthusiasts among students, especially for medical student are not too much. Meanwhile, for the drawing enthusiast like Estya, Emildha and Shabrina, this kind of passion should be facilitated.
They hope that there would be many drawing or mural competition to provide chance for medical students to express their art.
淲e hope that our artwork could be appreciated and kindly accepted in community. And also the art passion for students could be facilitated through a community because actually there are many medical student who interested in artwork, Emildha said
