UNAIR NEWS– Adinda Putri, Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) student , managed to become Miss Earth Indonesia Animal Welfare 2018 in the Election of Miss Earth Indonesia 2018 on Friday, July 6 at Sun City Hotel, Jakarta.She was also named the Top 5 Best National Costume and Top 5 Best Evening Gown.Before becoming a finalist, Adinda passed the selection stage which included the creation of essays about the environment andinterview.
In the final round, Adinda admitted that she was very happy because she could meet other finalists from all over Indonesia including meeting great speakers Adinda had never imagined before.
“I gained a great deal of insight on nature.Starting from environment around us, how to manage trash correctly, how to preserve marine organism, make efforts to avoid water and air pollution, knowledge onillegal logging, good use of gas emissions, and preservation of endangered animals.I learned many things about several aspects in nature, ” he said.
During two weeks of quarantine, according to Adinda, the most enjoyable experience during the event was being able to interact directly with nature.For example, playing with animals, traveling around the fields, andoutboundactivity.
“In addition, we provide education to the public at JakartaCar Free Day(CFD) not to litter and distribute eco-friendly bags that we share for free.We made the bags ourselves from unused shirts, “said the 2015 Miss Indonesia East Kalimantan.
Adinda also gave tips to the participants who wanted to take part in the event.The tips are preparing in-depth knowledge about nature, critical of environmental issues, training inpublic speaking, and modelling.The most important is mental and physical excellence in order to improve confidence in presence of many people.
“The main task will be given bymanagement in Jakarta.Since I am in Surabaya, maybe in the future I will work with zoos, safari parks, and animal communities in Surabaya.Because, I am still working at this time.So, I have to manage my time well, ” she said when asked about his duties and obligations after becoming Miss Earth Indonesia Animal Welfare.(*)
