UNAIR NEWS – In 2018, Airlangga Global Day is in its second year.The series of Airlangga Global Day events initiated by Airlangga Global Engangement presents an international atmosphere in campus.
“Raising the spirit for UNAIR’s target towards 500 World Class University we want to present an international atmosphere on campus.So the international students studying at UNAIR also have a forumto enjoy their traditions and culture because we are all families of UNAIR academicians, “explained Karis, Head of Airlangga Global Day organizing committee.
Held on Friday, September 7, Airlangga Global Day has a series of activities.Some of them areinternational student performancesand bazaars located in the area by the lake Campus C UNAIR.Assisted by approximately ten volunteer students from various faculties, Airlangga Global Day invitedinternational officesfrom various universities in East Java to enliven the event.
In international student performances, there are several performances, including Reog Dance, Saman Dance, Angklung, and Yosakoi, with a total of 60 participants.
“For Saman, we present aclub ofstudents from the Faculty of Humanities who also have international students, as well as Yosakoi,” said Karis.
“In order to be make it more lively, we also held some gamesconsisting of coin moving race from papaya, marbles race, running race, and cracker eating competitions intended specifically for our participating ineternational students,” he added.
Furthermore, to enliven the event there was also a bazaar consisting of 8local tenants. Four tenantswere for food platingcompetition for6 groups of international students. They were international students from Africa and Thailand.There were also 2specialtenantswith Myanmar’s international specialties with sellers dressed in Thai clothes and Indian Cuisine Food from India.

“By organize it routinely, we hope that allinboundstudent activitiesand those who are studying at UNAIR really have a place to work.This is also an effort of branding UNAIR’s name in the international arena, “he concluded.(*)
