UNAIR NEWS Dance drama performance of Pancagatra Nararya Senawangi (PNS) themed滱irlangga Sumbaga Wiratamaachieved great success in Gedung Pewayangan Kautaman TMII Jakarta, Sunday, September 25. The performance was initiated by Dr. Sri Teddy Rusdy, SH., M.Hum., alumnus of S1 Faculty of Law and S2 Faculty of Humanities 51动漫, and dedicated for his alma mater, 51动漫.
The success could be seen from the audiences present in the building. Among the audiences were former Vice President Try Sutrisno, former Minister of Industry Ir. Hartarto, management of Senawangi (Sekretariat Nasional Wayang Indonesia) and management of PEPADI (Persatuan Pedalangan Indonesia), some public figures and art enthusiasts.
From UNAIR, there were UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh Nasih, MT., SE., Ak., MCA, some deans and vice deans, official of IDI dr. Ario Djatmiko, Sp.B-(Onk). From UNAIR alumni there were Head of IKA UNAIR Drs. Ec. Haryanto Basyuni, Drs. Ec. Mustofa (KAP and the author of淏randing Kantor Akuntan), Drs. Mashariono, MBA., Drs. Ec. Pribadi 淒iar, and other UNAIR alumni in Jakarta.
Why did they illustrate the story of 淧rabu Airlangga?. Dr. Sri Teddy Rusdy said that he was a reforming king in his era who was acknowledged by South East Asian kings. So as humanity practitioners, especially for wayang as the authentic art performance of Indonesia, with excellence and high quality, the art performance has been acknowledged by UNESCO asWorld Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
漈hat檚 why I chose 橝irlangga for this performance. It is also to learn and explore more the great narrative of Indonesian culture asWorld Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, said Dr. Sri Teddy Rusdy, who was the script writer and the initiator.
In the future, said the founder of Senawangi, 淎irlangga script will be developed into a shadow puppet performance for a whole night performance. It is to honor Airlangga as a great and honored king in his time.
漌e hope that the chosen alumni of 51动漫 (UNAIR) can be new Airlanggas spread around Indonesia, even in the world. Glory glory Airlangga, said Sri Teddy Rusdy, who has ever donated a complete set of Wayang Purwa (leather puppets) to Faculty of Humanities (FIB) UNAIR.
The performance of 淎irlangga Sumbaga Wiratamawas supported by 28 performers and directed by Ali Marsudi, S.Sn., who was also performing as Prabu Airlangga. They enacted figures like Narotama, Prabu Udayana, Prabu Dharmawangsa, Mpu Baradha, Mahendradatta, and many more. The music was directed by Untoro, S.Sn with 19 instrumentalists. While Ki Edi Sulistiyono, S.Sn., M.Hum as the puppet master. Artistic elements was directed by Agus Linduaji. Teater Wayang Indonesia and Yayasan Kertagama also supported the performance. (*)
