UNAIR NEWS Lately, analgesic medicine is really needed by the public. Supported by related knowledge advancement such as organic chemistry, molecular biology, medicinal chemistry and computation chemistry have made medicine development more rational. This development makes new medicine design process more efficient and effective.
That was the background of Alvan Febrian Shalas檙esearch for his master program final assignment from the Faculty of Pharmacy, 51动漫. His thesis titled Hubungan Kuantitatif Struktur-Aktivitas Senyawa Turunan1-Alil-3-Benzolitioureasebagai Analgesik(Ortho, Meta,danPara Benzolitiourea) has made him conferred as the best graduate of master program Faculty of Pharmacy with perfect GPA: 4.00 in March 2016 graduation.
The man known as Alvan started his research by modelling compound candidate molecule to be synthesized in silico. He then performed compound synthesis which noticed as compound with analgesic potential (based on in silico) and its purity was tested and its chemical structure was confirmed. Next, analgesic activity was tested on the compound synthesis product. Lastly, quantitative relation between the structure and analgesic activity was measured.
During the research, the man born in Jember on February 18, 1985 was supported by his supervising lecturers, wife, child and friends. The nature and coffee lover admitted that he found no difficulties finishing it.
漈he problem was from my personal part such as less accurate in analyzing topic, less communicative, inconsistent and other things. Solution is on how great we want to upgrade ourselves, he said.
After the master program, Alwan wanted to apply his knowledge by developing medicine. 淜now and be yourself, Alvan檚 message to motivate his juniors in Pharmacy UNAIR. (*)
