UNAIR NEWS– As stated by M. Fairuzzuddin Zuhair, Vice President of 2018 BEM , in an opinion he wrote inUNAIR NEWStitled “PKKMB AMERTA, Between Ideas and Reality” two weeks ago, Amerta Abiseka is the closing activity of inauguration and the highest appreciation given to freshmen because they have undergone PKKMB activities.
After the inauguration of freshmen, there was Amerta Candradimuka event and in the closing event there was Amerta Abiseka, August 11.The anti-climax of the event was in Amerta Abiseka. It marks the end of the orientation events.
“This year’s Amerta activity was successfully held, there were no events that were canceled and changed on the D-day, all according to expectations,” explained Dony Ali as Event Division of 2018 Amerta Program.
The student who is known as Dony said that he did not overestimate his own program, it was purely based on the fact that Amerta 2018 was almost perfect, Dony judged from 1 – 10 points, this year’s Amerta is 9.5 points.
“600 Amerta committees and 6,527 new students work together and work together to make the Amerta event a success,” said Dony Ali.
Regarding the name, Abiseka, he explained that according to history during the Hindu Kingdom, Abiseka could be interpreted as the inauguration ceremony of King Airlangga after he was forged and trained at the candradimuka.He was then assumed the title of Abiseka Sri Maharaja Rakai Halu Sri Dharmawangsa Airlangga Anantawikramottunggadewa.
“In KBBI the meaning of abiseka is ceremony done by bathing with holy water,” he added.
The occasion was attended by Khofifah Indar Parawansa, M.Si as Governor of East Java and alumni of FISIP UNAIR.In this activity, Khofifah gave a short speech to freshmen. Khofifah said that she was an activist who had taken part in the birth of political reform 20 years ago.According to her, the 20 years of reform carried out is expected to inspire freshmen to move into agents of change.
In addition, Abiseka’s liveliness was marked by the performance of several Student Activity Units (UKM).There were performances of Taekwondo, Persaudaraan Setia Hati Teratai, Mata Angin Theater, and Dance and Karawitan clubs.The event was closed with a solo performance by Dudy Oris, former vocalist of Yovie & Nuno and alumni of FEB UNAIR.Dudy performed Menjaga Hati and Untukku which entertained the audience at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC).
