UNAIR NEWS – Muhammad Kholil and Riska Maulani, Physics bachelor檚 degree students at Faculty of Science and Technology, were selected ascikgu(teacher, Malaysian language) who will teach in Malaysia for almost a month.They managed to beat thousands of prospectivecandidatesfrom various universities in Indonesia.
According to Riska Maulani,this activity was organized byVolunteerism Teaching Indonesian Children(VTIC), in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia and the Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia Kuching.
The selection process was tight and conducted gradually, from submitting documents, videomicroteachingactivity,and interview.The selection has been started from November 2017 to January 2018.
The good news finally arrived at the beginning of February, where two UNAIR students passed and will teach in Malaysia on 6-27 August 2018. A series ofVolunteerism Teaching Indonesian Childrenactivities are in the form of teaching and learning activities for Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) in Malaysia.
“There will be celebration 73rd Anniversary of Republic Indonesia’s Independence on August 17, 2018 and also Eid al-Adha.So participants will be divided into several areas, such as in Bintulu, Miri, Simunjan, and Mukah.“There are several places in each area that will be visited by two to three teachers,” she said.
TehIneu, one of the founders of VTIC said that participants will feel the extraordinary emotion when celebrating of our beloved country because it was carried out in a neighboring country.
Riska said that she registered in November 2017 and followed the selection process.This activity attracted attention of students as thousands of Indonesian students enrolled, and only around 400 qualified and entered the next selection, to make microteachingactivity video.
Participants made a video for their teaching activity at school, TPQ, or an orphanage for at least 15 minutes and uploaded onYouTube and 滨苍蝉迟补驳谤补尘.听With all the best creativity, up to 200 participants managed to follow interview stage.
“So the interview phase was the final selection to select up to only 46 participants who qualify and teach in Malaysia,” Riska added.
Few of the Indonesian students who were selected were two 51动漫 students.
“For me, it’s hard not to contribute when I was called.I’m ready to learn, teach, serve and contribute to others, “said Riska, student of Medical Physics program FST UNAIR on her reason for participation.
“For me, in my final semester before graduation from 51动漫, I want to use my knowledge for others because the best of human beings are beneficial for others, “added Muhammad Kholil, the other student from UNAIR who teaches in Malaysia in August.(*)
