This awarding night was held at the same time with The 85th Anniversary of NCKU, the following day after The 62th Anniversary of UNAIR, Friday, November 11. The awards of Outstanding Young Alumni Award (OYAA) were given to 85 NCKU檚 alumni. From all the awarded alumni, there were only two foreigners, from the Philippines and Indonesia, who got the awards.

From all the awardees, 13 were from College of Management, NCKU. They were from the academic community, business professionals and consultants. The eleven awardees were Taiwanese, but two others, including Badri, are not. All awardees are working on Multinational Corporation, digital start up, and higher education.

The Award Selection Committee determined one primary factor in order to choose outstanding alumni. The achiever must be under 50-years old and has made significant achievements.

淭hey were considering my effort. NCKU is research-based university, so they see me by my effort to publish my research articles. I檝e been working on education sector and they were considering my track record on how I taught my student. I檝e got several awards (on Outstanding Lecturer in 2010 and 2015). Also from my research publications and community services, The Head of Planning and Development Board (BPP) of UNAIR said to UNAIR News檚 reporter.

Personally, Badri assumes that the achievement represents appreciation from institution to alumni. The achievement, for Badri, is a stepping stone for him to reach other greater goals. One of them is to publish more articles.

淚 feel that it has not the optimal yet. Lecturers in NCKU have to publish their research in top ten journals. I still cannot do it, Badri said.

In response to Badri檚 achievement, the rector of UNAIR Prof. Dr. M. Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak, said that he was proud. Pak Badri is a hard working lecturer. Because of that, I put my trust on him as Head of BPP. Hopefully, there are more UNAIR檚 lecturers who could achieve prestigious award like him, Rector said.

In educational aspect, Badri was chosen as The First Outstanding Lecturer in UNAIR in 2010 and 2015. In 2015, the expert of branding management even has become outstanding lecturer finalist at national level.

In research field, until 2016, Badri has published 34 articles in prestigious journal, and 12 of them were indexed on Thompson Reuters ISI with h-index score 6, and cited 191 times. On Google Scholar, Badri has h-index score 11, and cited 751 times.

In community service field, the lecturer born in Lumajang also dedicates himself on institutional development. Until now, he has served as the chairman of BPP, a member of Board of Trustees, and also a part of university ranking acceleration team towards World Class University of Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.
