UNAIR NEWS揅hemistry program is now doing intensive research on lifesciencesand healthsciences.Chairman of Chemistry program, Dr. Purkan, M.Si said that program research which he is heading always refer to UNAIR research development path, namely life sciences, health sciences, social and humanities.
Purkan also adds that some research result from Chemistry program have been used by famous Indonesia companies. One of the research they are developing is the research headed by UNAIR Chemistry ProfessorProf. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tripusparini, about Xylanase Enzyme, one of paper making enzyme.
淲e are also developing censor to detect pollutant and Hydroquinone in cosmetics, said Purkan.
In healthscience research,Chemistry program is developing herbal medicine packed in the form of capsule and anti-candidiasis medicine. Purkan also added that when doing research, Chemistry program always involves students in doing the research. This aims to introduce and give first-hand experience to the students.
100% of our research involves students, so we give the students first-hand experience on how to do a research, adds Purkan.
Other than research, chemistry program also participates in civil service. In civil service sector, Chemistry program always has annual long term or temporary service programs. A lecturer team from Chemistry program are fostering special farmer in mushroom culture in Bojonegoro and potentially medicating worm culture in Bangkalan. They give routine trainings and knowledge on how to correctly culture mushrooms and worms as well as how to process them to turn them into good products.
