Solidarity in UKM UNAIR continues to be improved

Joining a Student Activity Unit will bring many benefits. One of them, extending a network of friends and kinship. The students will have many alumni friends who still feel have connection with alma mater.

This was revealed by Wahyu Nur Wahid from Wanala UNAIR Mountaineering Club.He said the relationship between seniors, juniors and alumni, was intimate.During this time, Wanala alumni even willing to accommodate graduates to work in their company.

“Some alumni of Wanala said, when it comes here, they feel that time seemed to stop.Because they are always addressed as mas or mbak, even though they already have children, “he said.

Moreover, so far in Wanala, when there is an AD / ART meeting, there should be an attending alumnus to advise. On an annual agenda like basic education, alumnus must be present.“Especially if there is already a big event, the alumni always contribute,” added the student of State Administration Science.

In Wanala itself there are a number of divisions.Namely, Forest Mountain (HG), Environmental Education and Free Nature (PLHAB), spelunking (Caving), Rock Climbing, Lake Ocean and River (SDS).In addition there are also social activities, and Search and Rescue (SAR).

Interviewed on different occasions, Head of UKM Student Regiment (Menwa) Axel Prastha Radityo revealed the same thing. He said, Menwa is the first UKM established at UNAIR.No wonder, there is a great number of Menwa alumni.

Until now, communication between students and alumni is well preserved. Menwa alumni still often attend events held on campus. In addition, there is a social media group (WhatsApp) that contains alumni and students to exchange ideas and experiences.

“We discuss a lot of things. Not only about Menwa, but also related to life in the community, “explained the student of the Faculty of Law.

On the other hand, the relationship between seniors and juniors also goes well. The seniors carry out the duty of guiding the junior.Although in senior and junior relationships there is little separation (related title position in Menwa), the relationship between Menwa members is family.

The seniors act as “parents” and give good examples for their members so they can be followed by their junior. It is the fruit of every training and education that always stresses a sense of the same fate which that fosters brotherhood, a strong inner bond and a sense of belonging between members of Menwa.
