UNAIR NEWS The Department of Information and Library Science (IIP) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, 51动漫 (UNAIR), in partnership with the Surabaya Office of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism (Disbudporapar), held a community engagement program on Wednesday (October 8, 2025). The initiative, titled Repacking Digital Information as an Innovation in Museum Services in Surabaya City, aimed to promote digital innovation and strengthen museum information management across the city.
The program team consisted of IIP UNAIR faculty members and students, led by Prof. Dr. Koko Srimulyo, Drs., M.Si., with team members Prof. Dr. Rahma Sugihartati, Dra., M.Si., Ragil Tri Atmi, S.IIP., M.A., and several students. The activities included educational workshops on digital information repackaging for museum public relations officers, training on digital content management for museum administrators, and website development sessions for the Musea communication team.
Website as gateway to knowledge
As part of the event, the team officially launched a new website. UNAIR檚 Vice-Rector for Ecosystem, Entrepreneurship, and Business Development, Prof. Dr. Koko Srimulyo, emphasized that strong human resources are vital in preserving and managing sources of knowledge. In today檚 digital disruption era, he noted, websites play a key role in ensuring public access to credible information.
淥ur human resources must be resilient and capable of protecting knowledge at its source. A website serves as an effective and strategic medium for information dissemination in this digital era, he stated.

The newly launched musea.surabaya.go.id website reflects UNAIR檚 commitment to implementing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi攅ducation, research, and community service攊n ways that deliver tangible benefits to society and local industries. The platform also reinforces the Surabaya Musea檚 presence as an interactive and accessible channel for cultural information and communication.
Head of the Surabaya Office of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism, Ir. Hidayat Syah, M.T., expressed hope that the website would not only attract more visitors to Surabaya檚 museums but also serve as a valuable reference for the public. He added that the team plans to continuously monitor the project檚 progress to ensure ongoing development and community impact.
淭he team will regularly evaluate improvements in website management skills and increases in museum visitor engagement. This initiative underscores our shared commitment to nurturing an informed and culturally conscious society, he said.
