UNAIR NEWS The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) 51动漫 () has reaffirmed its commitment to community engagement by organizing a Technical Training (Bimtek) program for animal health personnel. The two-day initiative took place from Monday to Tuesday (May 45, 2026) at the Bojonegoro Regency Office of Livestock and Fisheries.
The program was attended by veterinary paramedics, veterinarians, and clinical practitioners serving in the Bojonegoro area. It was designed to strengthen human resource capacity and professional competence in animal health, particularly in addressing disease-related challenges and improving the quality of veterinary services in the field.
Strengthening human resource capacity in animal health
The training delivered a range of practical, field-relevant materials aligned with participants needs. Topics included the management of infectious animal diseases, livestock health management, and clinical practices based on the latest standard operating procedures. The program檚 Vice Chair, Prof. Dr. Wiwik Misaco Yuniarti, M.Kes., DVM, emphasized that the initiative was intended to generate tangible and sustainable outcomes rather than function as a ceremonial event.
淭his community service program is designed to be both impactful and sustainable. Over the next year, FKH UNAIR aims to identify and address the needs of local agencies and the regency檚 livestock sector, from herd management and disease control to improving livestock productivity, she said.

She also pointed out that key animal health issues, such as Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), are still present in the field and remain a shared concern.
淭he continued occurrence of FMD in Bojonegoro highlights the need to consistently strengthen the capacity of animal health personnel. This is why we are here to provide science-based support, she added.
Toward broader impact
Prof. Yuniarti further noted that FKH UNAIR plans to engage multiple disciplines as part of its ongoing community service efforts. One such initiative includes community nutrition screening programs that emphasize protein intake from livestock-based products.
淭his effort not only focuses on animal health but also contributes to improving public nutrition through the optimal use of livestock products, she explained.
Collaboration to strengthen the livestock sector
In this context, UNAIR, through FKH, serves not only as a training provider but also as an active partner in sustaining communication with veterinary paramedics, veterinarians, and clinical practitioners in Bojonegoro. This ongoing engagement is essential to building cross-professional collaboration aimed at achieving optimal livestock health in the region.
Through this network, UNAIR also seeks to ensure that advances in academic knowledge and technology are effectively transferred to field practitioners. As a result, this community service initiative extends beyond the training program itself, contributing to broader efforts to strengthen capacity, improve the quality of animal health services, and support the long-term sustainability of the livestock sector in Bojonegoro.
