UNAIR NEWS Traditional Medicine students won first place in PPTKTI Olympiad held by the universities with Traditional Medicine program in Indonesia.
Diva Ziaul Haq, Andra Widuri, and Kinanti Salsabila Utami won the Creation and Innovation category, where they poured their creative ideas to formulate traditional products.
Team leader, Diva explained that her team coined the idea of making herbal soap from neem.
淔or the competition, we make Wu Xing Soap, herbal soap with neem antibacterial by implementing the Wu Xing concept, she said.
The product was inspired by herbal cosmetics done by the Traditional Medicine Community Service, one of them is neem herbal medicine. In product development, they used five colors from Wu Xing檚 theory (five elements in Traditional Chinese Medicine) with active ingredients of neem for the antibacterial.

Diva found the supervising lecturer to realize their product and participate in many competitions.
Various benefits
The herbal soap offers various health benefits. 淥ur product has various health benefits because neem is the main ingredient, she said.
In the end, she hoped that the herbal soap, which contains Wu Xing elements, will develop better with selling values.
淗opefully, I can develop the product even better for my business idea in the future, she said.
Other UNAIR students also won seven champions in different categories in the olympiad.
