The session featured several prominent national figures, including the Chair of the MWA PTN-BH Forum, Prof. Dr. H. Mohamad Nasir, MSi, Akt., PhD. The presence of the former Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education highlighted the importance of synergy among PTN-BH governing bodies in maintaining accountability while advancing innovation and commercialization within universities.

In his remarks, Prof. Nasir emphasized that PTN-BH institutions must continue to promote the concept of an impactful campus, extending beyond education into the economic sphere. He noted that higher education must transition from conventional approaches toward digital transformation.

淚nnovation acts as a catalyst for institutional development, digital transformation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, including initiatives such as smart campuses, interdisciplinary programs, and digital learning tools. What is crucial is the role of technology transfer and collaboration among universities, he explained.

Collaboration for research commercialization

He also highlighted the important roles of the Board of Trustees and the Academic Senate as complementary bodies in fostering research innovation and commercialization. Strong collaboration, he said, would strengthen PTN-BH institutions in addressing global challenges, including digital transformation and international competition.

淗ow can innovation enhance the quality of education? Quality assurance can be leveraged to support research and ensure integrity in commercialization, while building a culture of innovation grounded in quality. Moving forward, global partnerships will be essential. Universities must collaborate with international partners to develop digital innovation ecosystems and sustain research commercialization, he emphasized.

Through the plenary session of the Academic Senate Assembly, UNAIR reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening professional and accountable higher education governance. The forum is expected to serve as both a space for reflection and a platform for formulating strategic steps to advance a competitive and sustainable higher education system in Indonesia.
