Faculty of Law 51¶¯Âþ (FH UNAIR) also sent a delegation to participate in the 2022 HHI activities. The representative of FH UNAIR is Zendy Wulan Ayu Widhi Prameswari, S.H., LL.M. This activity was fully funded by Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) UNAIR. In addition to courses and discussions, Roundtable Discussion of International Humanitarian Law also include pretests; providing material on the basics of IHL, introduction, and application of IHL, protection in IHL, tools, and means of war, implementation and enforcement of IHL; group assignment presentations; excursions or field simulations in the form of demonstrations of real situations that fall within the scope of IHL; and finally there is a post-test.

“The benefit of this activity for me as an academic is that it refreshes and strengthens my understanding of IHL for me as a human rights teacher. In addition, with the existence of many different fields, both from the giver of materials and participants as well as the facilitation of discussion and exchange of views in this activity, I gained knowledge not only in the form of a theory which so far can only be read through books or IHL literature but also can get an overview. About the difficulty of implementing Humanitarian Law in the field from practitioners,” said Zendy.

Zendy continued by saying that he could add knowledge about the implementation of HHI in the field when teaching or transferring knowledge to FH UNAIR students so that FH UNAIR students not only gain understanding based on theory in the literature but also gain knowledge about the implementation of Humanitarian Law in the field and some practitioners’ perspectives that differ from those of the lecturer. This activity also facilitates improving the quality of lecturer resources, which will further improve the quality of students and graduates of FH UNAIR.
