UNAIR NEWS The EV-OS (Electric Vehicle on Study) team from the Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (FTMM) (UNAIR) earned notable recognition at the 2025 PLN Innovation & Competition in Electricity (ICE). The national event, held in Surabaya from Friday to Sunday (November 2123, 2025), brought together university teams competing in electric vehicle and future energy technology innovation. EV-OS not only passed the national qualification stage but also delivered strong showings in three categories: Micro Car Electric Vehicle, Electric Gokart, and Drag Electric Motorcycle FFA Class.

Their top achievement came from the ALERTA EVOLT 2.0 prototype, which secured First Place in the Gokart Electric Vehicle Engineering Design category. The SVARA prototype also earned the team Third Place in the Micro Car Electric Vehicle Engineering Design category. Together, these honors highlight EV-OS檚 technical skill, design innovation, and consistent performance in advancing electric vehicle engineering.

FTMM Dean Prof. Dr. Ir. Retna Apsari, M.Si., IPM, praised the accomplishments, calling them a reflection of FTMM檚 strong mentorship and the students innovative spirit. 淓V-OS檚 achievements demonstrate the quality of our training, the students creativity, and FTMM檚 commitment to supporting electric vehicle technology as part of Indonesia檚 sustainable energy development, she said.

EV-OS檚 success was the result of months of preparation. Beginning in July, the team worked through registration, proposal writing, and funding evaluations. From August to November, they shifted into the vehicle development phase. 淒uring those four months, we were required to build a vehicle that met the standards of a real car, not just a simple prototype, explained Ravindra Alfian.

The EV-OS General Manager also emphasized the importance of technical accuracy. 淥ur strength lies in the completeness of our data, from simulations and performance analyses to design plans that were fully realized according to our engineering blueprint, he said.

He noted that PLN檚 funding support made the competition especially valuable. 淲e hope this platform continues to help students develop their ideas and refine them based on their strengths, Alfian added.

Alfian also acknowledged the essential role of the supervising faculty members: Yoga Uta Nugraha, S.T., M.T.; Muhammad Syahril Mubarok, S.ST., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Dr. Eng. Ananta Adhi Wardana; and Tahta Amrillah, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. 淯NAIR provided full support, from facilities to moral and financial assistance. Without that, we might not have won this competition, he said.

He expressed hope that the team檚 work will continue to grow beyond campus research. 淲e want our technology to extend beyond academic projects and deliver real impact to society, he concluded. With this achievement, EV-OS further strengthens its reputation as UNAIR檚 leading student organization in electric vehicle innovation at the national level.
