The Student Representative (SR)听School Program听is a program launched by IISMA to provide insight and knowledge for the听awardees听as a provision before they go abroad.听The Student Representative (SR)听school听is听the first time after two generations of IISMA.
淲ith this SR school, we have great hopes of being able to see听IISMA听awardees being听leaders听on campuses abroad, said Rahmat Sriwijaya, Chief Director of IISMA 2023.
At the SR School this time, he invited Ari Sufiati, an alumna of Communication Studies of 51动漫.听She has had听global leadership听experience for 15 years until now as听a Senior Product Manager听at Apple Inc.
The importance of managing people
Ari Sufianti said that the place where she works now really values 媼people and how humans engage each other and establish good relationships with vendors, clients, and other contractors.听It is currently needed by large companies such as Apple Inc.
淲hen someone has a personal problem, a manager at Apple always asks if they are okay. Because the joy of employees in the work environment is the capital to produce good and brilliant products and ideas, said Ari Sufianti.
Ari added that apart from paying attention to its employees, the Apple company also looks for quality in its employees. Many applicants fail in Apple檚 recruitment selection because they cannot maximize and demonstrate the significant impact they have achieved.
The IISMA听awardees听are expected to have a big impact before or after studying abroad, from what they gain before and after their studies.
Skills required in good managing people
Managing people is not only about managing humans but also how to lead and manage a team.听淚t檚 different with听the boss听because, in managing people, they听must know how to treat people so they have the same mindset and vision as us, said Ari.
Communication skills are one of the keys to听managing people.听Good communication skills must be supported by collaboration and teamwork to produce innovation.听They are the principle of big companies like Google, Apple.听Inc., and Facebook.
Communication and teamwork must be encouraged anywhere. Students need them when studying abroad. 淲hen you are abroad, you will learn how to speak English and work with the locals. With it, we hope that when you return to Indonesia, you can apply it and make a big impact, 渃oncluded Ari.
