UNAIR NEWS (UNAIR) continues to produce distinguished alumni who make meaningful contributions to society. One such alumna is Lensa Rosdiana Safitri, Stat., M.Si., the founder of Griya Statistika, a consulting and education firm specializing in data analysis. A graduate of UNAIR檚 Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Safitri earned her undergraduate degree in Statistics in 2018 and later completed her master檚 in Mathematics through a research-based track in 2024, graduating with a perfect GPA.
Safitri檚 journey with Griya Statistika began in 2017 during the final semester of her undergraduate studies. Initially, she provided data analysis assistance to her peers without any intention of turning it into a business. 淚t all grew naturally through word of mouth, she recalled.
Before completing her studies, Safitri gained experience working as a statistical consultant at a private company, further deepening her expertise in data consulting. In 2022, she made the decision to leave her corporate job and relaunch Griya Statistika as an independent venture while simultaneously pursuing her master檚 degree.
By 2024, her dedication and perseverance paid off when Griya Statistika was selected as a startup under the mentorship of Airlangga Startup and Innovation (ATAVI). 淲ith access to office facilities, business mentoring, and investor networks, our firm has continued to grow. We are currently in the process of obtaining legal status as a limited partnership (CV), Safitri explained.
Advancing education and integrity in data consulting
Safitri emphasizes that Griya Statistika is more than just a data processing service攊t is also an educational institution. Operating under the motto Your Best Research Partner #NotAGhostwriter, she stresses the importance of academic integrity. 淥ur goal is to be a professional consulting institution that upholds credibility and ethical research practices, she stated.
To date, Griya Statistika has supported thousands of students and researchers across various academic levels, including those from international institutions. Safitri shared that several of her clients have even graduated with top honors. 淎dditionally, more than 1,000 participants have attended our training programs, with attendees from leading universities such as UNAIR, ITS, IPB, as well as the University of Leeds and Chulalongkorn University, she said.
Overcoming challenges and driving future innovation
Building Griya Statistika was not without its challenges. Safitri faced significant obstacles, including limited startup capital, competition from unethical ghostwriting services, and the complexities of managing a growing team. 淲e tackled these challenges by earning the trust of our clients, maintaining our commitment to integrity, and forming a strong, collaborative team, she explained.
Looking ahead, she envisions expanding Griya Statistika檚 services through intensive training programs, strengthening collaborations with universities and research institutions, and promoting high-quality, data-driven research. 淚 want Griya Statistika to evolve beyond consulting攖o become an educational hub for those who want to develop a deeper understanding of statistics, she concluded.
