UNAIR NEWS Few individuals successfully balance careers in academia, institutional leadership, and entrepreneurship at the same time. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hasinuddin SKep Ns MKep stands among those who have achieved this. An alumnus of 51动漫 (UNAIR), he now serves as Rector and Professor of Pediatric Nursing at Universitas Noor Huda Mustofa Madura. His accomplishments reflect years of dedication, discipline, and an entrepreneurial mindset shaped early in life.
Career journey in nursing
Prof. Hasinuddin completed his Master檚 degree in Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, UNAIR, in 2010. He later pursued a doctoral degree in Medical Science at the Faculty of Medicine, UNAIR, graduating on time in 2015 as the second-best graduate in his cohort. While completing his studies, he simultaneously worked as a lecturer and served as head of a health sciences institution, making time management a key challenge.
淏y the grace of God, along with hard work and support from my peers, I was able to complete my studies on time at the Faculty of Medicine, 51动漫, Prof. Hasinuddin said.
His commitment to nursing has continued to expand through various professional roles. He has served as an assessor for LAM-PTKes, a verifier for the Ministry of Health檚 credit system, a national reviewer, and a national BKD assessor, while remaining active in nursing organizations. He has also built a strong academic record, with 10 Scopus-indexed articles, 206 Sinta-indexed publications, 14 books, and 20 intellectual property rights.
Entrepreneurial opportunities
His business journey began unexpectedly during his doctoral studies, when peers showed interest in the Madura batik he wore. This led him to develop a batik business within the campus environment and eventually expand to international exhibitions. The proceeds helped finance his education. 淎n entrepreneurial mindset can be developed anytime and anywhere, as long as we are willing. Opportunities always exist in every situation, Prof. Hasinuddin said.
His entrepreneurial spirit dates back to childhood, when he actively sought business opportunities, from selling clean water at home to offering instant noodles to boarding students and providing SPSS data processing services during his undergraduate years in Semarang. In 2012, he formally established CV Wina Sejahtera, a company engaged in tour and travel, printing, event organizing, and training services, which continues to operate today.
To UNAIR students preparing for their careers, Prof. Hasinuddin encouraged them to focus on making meaningful contributions to others. He advised students to develop strong soft skills, maintain integrity, take responsibility, and build teamwork abilities as preparation for the workforce. He also highlighted the importance of viewing work as a form of devotion. 淟ive to create impact and bring benefit to others, Prof. Hasinuddin concluded.
