A graduate of the Statistics program at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), he now works as a Capital Market Research Officer at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), where he focuses on market research and the development of data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.
Upon completing his studies, Purwoko applied his expertise in data analysis to pursue a career in the capital market sector. He noted that his academic background in statistics not only equipped him with technical proficiency but also fostered an analytical mindset aligned with industry needs. 淢y studies in statistics have been essential in helping me interpret data and turn it into valuable insights, he said.
Capital market research and data analysis
In his current role, Purwoko analyzes stock trading data and market indices that serve as key benchmarks for investors in evaluating corporate performance. His work helps provide a clearer picture of market conditions, providing a basis for more informed investment decisions.
He is also involved in producing research on capital market trends. Together with his team, he translates analytical findings into recommendations that can inform both strategic and policy-related decisions.
Additionally, Purwoko develops monitoring dashboards to track market performance, including that of regional representative offices. 淔or me, data is a tool to better understand broader economic dynamics. Working in the capital market sector demands continuous adaptability. Purwoko acknowledged that rapid changes require him to keep learning and adjusting to a dynamic work environment, with maintaining consistency under pressure being one of the main challenges.
He also underscored the importance of strengthening financial literacy among the public. Purwoko expressed hope that improvements in capital market governance will make investment more accessible and easier to understand, enabling individuals to make more informed financial decisions and better manage the effects of inflation in the future.
