UNAIR NEWS (UNAIR) marked its 70th Dies Natalis, or anniversary, with an assembly on Monday, November 11, 2024, held in the Garuda Mukti Hall on the 5th floor of UNAIR檚 MERR-C Campus Management Building. This event was part of a series celebrating UNAIR檚 14th Lustrum as a leading educational institution in Indonesia. The assembly served not only as a celebration but also as an opportunity to reflect on the university檚 accomplishments and recent innovations.
Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE MT Ak, opened the event with a speech in which he expressed profound gratitude for UNAIR檚 progress. 淎ll praise to God for UNAIR檚 incredible 70-year journey. Today, we are reaching remarkable heights. I never imagined that UNAIR檚 progress and reach would rise to such great heights. We planned to make leaps, but never anticipated jumping this high. This is a blessing from the Almighty, Prof. Nasih said with pride.
Honoring top scientists
A key moment in the ceremony was the recognition of UNAIR scientists included in Stanford University and Elsevier檚 Top 2% Scientists list. Those honored included Ferry Efendi, S. Kep Ns M.Sc PhD; Dr. Veryl Hasan, S.Pi M.P.; Prof. Dr. Santi Martini, dr. M.Kes; Prof. Ratna Dwi Wulandari, S.K.M M.Kes; and the late Prof. Dr. Moh Yasin, M.Si.

This recognition acknowledged their dedication and contributions to research, demonstrating UNAIR檚 commitment to promoting research that has both national significance and international impact.
Launching FMD vaccine
In celebration of its seven-decade journey, UNAIR also launched a new foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccine, developed through a collaborative research effort led by UNAIR檚 research team. The vaccine is UNAIR檚 contribution to Indonesian society and is expected to support government programs that promote nutritious diets. 淕od willing, we are ready to contribute to nutritional initiatives through this vaccine as part of our service to the nation, said Prof. Nasih.
After the formal assembly, a reception event concluded the day as a moment of gratitude. This 70th Dies Natalis and 14th Lustrum mark a significant milestone for UNAIR, underscoring its mission to be a university that pursues 淓xcellence with Morality.
As UNAIR enters this new stage of growth, it remains committed to continuous innovation, producing high-quality research, and serving the community to help build a stronger Indonesia. This event symbolizes UNAIR檚 dedication not only to academic achievements but also to meaningful contributions to society and the nation.
