UNAIR NEWS 51动漫 (UNAIR) continues to strengthen support for internal research through a series of Airlangga Research Fund (ARF) activities as part of DRI Week organized by the Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI). In this session, DRI Week hosted an Innovation Forum titled Expertise Capacity Building for the Pre-Feasibility Study Expert Team. The event took place on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Room 301, Kahuripan Building, MERR-C Campus, UNAIR.

In his remarks, a representative of DRI, Yanuardi Raharjo SSi MSc PhD, stated that the experts involved serve as valuable assets for 51动漫 in supporting advanced internal research. He emphasized that UNAIR will continue to encourage these experts to compete at the national level. 淲e move forward together with a shared commitment to make UNAIR better. This is reflected in the development of innovative products that can be downstreamed and provide tangible benefits to society, he said.

Technical expert team for downstreaming program

During the Innovation Forum, the first speaker, Prof. Dra. Ec. Dyah Wulan Sari MEc Dev PhD, explained that the technology acceleration program through expert mentoring is part of UNAIR檚 effort to expedite research downstreaming. She highlighted that the program produces two main outputs: Industry-Ready Prototypes for researchers and Business Models in the form of Commercial Recommendation Documents for assessment teams.

淭his program serves as a strategic initiative to accelerate the downstreaming of national research into technology-based industries. It bridges the gap between research and commercialization through the preparation of systematic commercialization documents aligned with national evaluation standards, she explained.

She further emphasized that the mentoring program has two primary objectives. First, it aims to connect laboratory research with industry more efficiently, ensuring readiness for impact while reducing the risk of failure. Second, it promotes synergy among universities, government, and industry so that downstreaming efforts align with national policies and strengthen innovation-driven economic competitiveness.

Tips for passing priority research downstreaming

In line with this, the second speaker, Heru Pramono SPi MBiotech PhD, advised experts to focus on three key aspects as the basis for approving advanced research proposals: desirability, viability, and feasibility. 淚t is essential to ensure that ongoing research meets all three criteria. Researchers must evaluate whether their work is suitable and capable of addressing downstreaming needs, he emphasized.
