UNAIR NEWS The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) at (UNAIR) rolled out a community engagement program in Palembon Village, Kanor District, Bojonegoro Regency, on Tuesday,Jan 27, 2026. The event brought together the Vice Regent of Bojonegoro, FKH leadership, academic experts, and members of the local community who benefit from the program.

Unlike earlier initiatives, this program centers on livestock assistance as a practical measure to strengthen the village economy. The support is intended to serve as productive capital, helping families increase their income while promoting long-term economic independence through sustainable livestock farming.
Putting knowledge into practice
In her remarks, Dean of FKH UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Lilik Maslachah, drh., M.Kes., highlights that the initiative reflects the university檚 commitment to delivering meaningful, real-world impact. Prof. Maslachah added that FKH UNAIR would continue to assist and mentor residents in managing and developing their livestock.

淐ommunity service must generate tangible outcomes. We are here not only to apply our knowledge but also to ensure it continues to grow. Through this livestock assistance, we aim to create sustainable sources of income for residents. We hope this initiative becomes a pilot project that strengthens both livestock productivity and long-term community welfare, she said.
Beyond distributing livestock, the FKH team also provided hands-on technical guidance covering animal care, health management, and business planning. This approach is designed to ensure the program goes beyond ceremonial activities and becomes a lasting driver of rural economic development.
Appreciation for academic contribution
The Vice Regent of Bojonegoro expressed strong appreciation for FKH UNAIR檚 role in supporting regional development, particularly in the livestock sector. 淭his assistance is a strategic step in strengthening the rural economy. We are grateful not only for the livestock support but also for the scientific knowledge shared. Through this program, FKH UNAIR aims to develop Palembon into a productive and self-reliant partner village. The collaboration among academics, local government, and the community is expected to serve as a strong foundation for developing local potential and improving long-term public welfare.
