UNAIR NEWS A professor with the ability to teach, write, conduct research, and dedicate oneself according to their respective fields has become a common occurrence. However, a professor with the skill to play music like a pro musician and forming a band is something unique and inspiring. This uniqueness is shown in the D’Professor band, where all members are professors at .
The band leader Prof Dr dr Widodo Ario Kentjono Sp THTBKL Subsp Onk stated that D橮rofessor was founded at a caf茅 in Surabaya on October 24, 2021, coinciding with National Doctor檚 Day.
Started from a casual talk
Prof. Ario explained that the band was formed as a result of a casual talk during a professorial inauguration on a Surabaya campus. During that moment, Prof. Ario and Prof. Dr. drg. Moh Rubianto MS SpPerio exchanged stories about their youth. Both of them often engaged in music activities outside of their lecture hours.
From there, they gathered other professors from UNAIR in Surabaya who shared a passion for music. The desire to form a band eventually emerged.
淭he band D橮rofessor consists of professors from 51动漫, he said.
Within two weeks of that meeting, the band was formed. All members are professors from UNAIR, including faculty and alumni from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG).
淲e found that some professors from UNAIR enjoy playing music and singing. So, we formed the D橮rofessor, he said.
Channeling creativity into hobbies
The formation of the band aims to provide a platform for professors to channel their musical and singing hobbies outside of campus, as well as to convey inspiration, enthusiasm, and joyful energy to everyone.
淲e want to spread joy with friends and the community, Prof. Ario said.
Earlier, the band consisted of nine professors; guitarists Prof. Ario and Prof. Rubi, bassist Prof. dr. Hendy Hendarto SpOG, and keyboardist Prof. dr. Jusak Nugraha MS SpPK. Prof. dr. Sjamsu Budiono SpM, Prof. drg Istiati SpPMM, and Prof. drg Theresia Indah SpPMM performed as singers and drummer Retired Navy Admiral Dr. Imam Soewono SpPD FINASIM.
淐urrently, there are a total of 15 members. We aim to contribute our hobbies to our beloved alma mater UNAIR to make it even more outstanding, he added.
D橮rofessor is also actively composing songs with social, educational, and moral themes. Some of these songs include 淧amer Putu and 淎irlanggaku. In addition, D’Professor also presents legendary songs with unique arrangements. The band frequently collaborates with Surabaya artists.
