UNAIR NEWS appointed nine new professors on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. UNAIR Rector led the inauguration that was held at the Garuda Mukti Hall, MERR-C Campus.
The new professors come from multiple fields. Five professors from the Faculty of Medicine were inaugurated, including Prof. Dr. Gadis Meinar Sari dr MKes, Prof. Dr. Martono Tri Utomo dr SpA(K), Prof. Dr. Gondo Mastutik drh MKes, Prof. Dr. Margarita Maria Maramis dr SpKJ(K) FISCM, and Prof. Dr. Iswinarno Doso Saputro dr SpBP-RE(K).
From the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, there are Prof Dr Hani Plumeriastuti drh MKes and Prof Michael Josef K K drg MKes SpPros Subsp PKIKG(K). Prof. Dr. Nisful Laila SE MComm from the Faculty of Economic and Business and Prof. Dr. Sucipto Hariyanto DEA from the Faculty of Science and Technology added the list of inaugurated professors.
Early service
Prof. Nasih expressed his gratitude for the addition of nine new professors. He believed that it marks UNAIR檚 dedication to serving the nation. 淚t is a joyful moment. We believe that UNAIR will make progress and contribute more to the nation, he said.
The rector advised the professors to continue their service. He stated that the inauguration moment is not the peak of the journey, but rather the beginning of a greater dedication.
Without dedication and continuous learning, a professor is merely a title. 淏ecoming a professor is the beginning of dedication. Without this dedication and continuity, the 榩rofessor is just a meaningless title, he said.
Contribution in learning
The ability to learn is comparatively low in Indonesian society. It creates numerous obstacles in the way of making progress. Therefore, professors should consistently create an educated society. 淥ne of Indonesia檚 weaknesses is its lack of learning ability. Our rivals do well, but we find it difficult to change the way we learn, said the Faculty of Economics and Business professor.
Therefore, the presence of new professors brings a breath of fresh air. They must contribute to making an educated society. 湞 he said.
In the end, Prof Nasih urged the professors to swiftly move forward in developing further research. He hoped that they could dedicate themselves fully and contribute more significantly to the nation. 淚 hope that after this inauguration, their steps will be even faster, their work better. Hopefully, they can contribute and serve our alma mater, the nation, and the state, he said.
