UNAIR NEWS (UNAIR) has again been recognized as an Informative Public Body in the Higher Education category at the Public Information Transparency Awards, hosted by the Central Information Commission (KIP). In this year檚 assessment, UNAIR was awarded the title of National Best Informative Public Body among State Universities (PTN), achieving a score of 97.17.

The award was formally presented by Syawaludin, Commissioner for Public Information Dispute Resolution, to UNAIR檚 representative, Winda Kusumawardani, SKep, Ns, MKep. The presentation ceremony was held on Monday (December 15, 2025) at Hotel Bidarakara, Jakarta.

淭ransparency in public information is essential, but it must also create value. When it is viewed solely as a legal obligation under Law No. 14 of 2008, it can easily become a burden rather than a benefit, said Denny Yusgiantoro, Chair of the Central Information Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, in his opening address.

He highlighted the need to treat information transparency as a fundamental requirement and to understand its long-term advantages. Consistent implementation of transparency practices, he noted, can enhance the quality of public services and increase public confidence.

淐onsistency produces positive outcomes, particularly consistency in making public information openly accessible. The recent significant improvement in our evaluations has been driven by strong collaboration and sustained consistency, he explained.

He also stressed the strategic role of Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID) in strengthening public information transparency. Weak PPID performance, he warned, can undermine monitoring and evaluation efforts, lower transparency index scores, and reduce the effectiveness of public information services.

淧PIDs must be responsive to public information requests and capable of providing thorough and well-articulated explanations, he asserted.

This recognition further solidifies UNAIR檚 reputation as a university that upholds transparency, accountability, and public service values aligned with the broader interests of society.
