UNAIR NEWS “ÌýAs an international university,Ìý51¶¯Âþ (UNAIR)Ìýcontinues to develop partnerships with various foreign universities.ÌýOne form of cooperation is manifested in theÌýstaff andÌýstudent outbound mobilityÌýprogram or student and staff exchange.
¸é±ð³¦±ð²Ô³Ù±ô²â,ÌýÌýsent delegates in aÌýstaff andÌýstudent outboundÌýprogram at one of the leading universities in Malaysia, , Selangor campus, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.ÌýThe delegates consisting of Battra administrative staff and students underwent the program on Tuesday-Friday, August 1-4, 2023.
Study in UiTM laboratory
Jihan Aura, representative of the delegates, said there were various activities she carried out inÌýthisÌýstudent outbound, including visiting and learning activities in the Department of Pharmaceutical Life Sciences UiTM laboratory.ÌýStudents are invited to make medicinal ingredients preparation for courses and research purposes.
“One of our activities was to visit various herbal research laboratories to make preparations for courses and research purposes. We were also invited to UiTM’s flagship laboratory, Laboratory Animal Facility and Management (LAFAM),” said Jihan on Monday, August 7, 2023.
Then, several Battra students had the opportunity to observe herbal products made by UiTM students to gain new findings and insight.ÌýThey were also introduced to traditional health services taught at UiTM Malaysia, such as acupuncture, massage,Ìýhomeopathy, andÌýpre & post-natal.
Feel the impact
Even though the staff and student outboundÌýprogramÌýwas relatively short, the student and staff involved felt a significant positive impact.ÌýIn addition to gaining new knowledge and insights into the world of Traditional Medicine, they also built up an international network.ÌýThe delegation’s involvement in discussion and direct learning activities there also impacted increasing cross-knowledge and cultural understanding.
“Overall, thisÌýoutbound studentÌýexperience has helped me gain a new perspective on Traditional Medicine technology and services.ÌýThen, get a new network, and increase understanding across science and culture, “explained Jihan.
Representing the delegates, Jihan hopes that thisÌýstaff and studentÌýoutbound program can create a better academic climate for both parties.ÌýIt is also expected to provide additional educationalÌývalueÌýand professional experience for Battra students.
Apart from participating in a staff and student outbound program at UiTM, the delegates also made visits andÌýattended a workshopÌýat Kong Zi Institute, Universiti Malaya.ÌýUNAIR Battra Lecturer Maya Septriana SSi Apt MSi became a speaker inÌýthe workshopÌýon Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).Ìý(*)
